So the chrome on my rims was corroding and until I can either re-chrome them or get a new set I wanted a clean look for my car.

2 cans of black Plasti Dip $10 from Lowes

Prep?

Just wiped em down and started spraying.

Got the idea from a Cadillac forum where a few other people had done this same thing, one guy posted a pic of one of his cars that was painted entirely with Plasti Dip :wtf:

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Didn't know that...that would have saved me some time and aggravation. I actually, I suspected it did but I went to both Lowes and Home Depot and each only had the dip kind.

Those rims look nice. I'm interested in hearing how they hold up.

Did he plasti-dip it all grey? (no pic):D

Well fuck

Rims look good! How good will it hold up?

No idea

If it gets bad I can always just repaint em but I'm hoping I'll have some nice new chrome rims by that time, also plan on using these as winter tires once I get a new set

I plasti dipped my interior parts on my FJ and they hold up great.... plus really ez to redo the parts ...stuff just peels off with leaving anything.

And that's why I did it, if I change my mind and don't like the black just peel it off
