gov should get the f out of my life. ill pay taxes to fix roads and provide healthcare to our country but not to help the lazy people. healthcare should be a public service not a business to get more people addicted to synthetic drugs made from plants harvested in a country we are fighting (opium in the sandbox). if everyone had healthcare the cost would actually go down because there wouldn't be poor people going and getting care then not paying their bill (the reason why i have a $1500 deductible or a months pay after taxes are taken out). USA is the ONLY industrialized country in the world that doesn't provide healthcare to every citizen. by the way the US is NOT in the top 25 for health care. pretty poor for a country with 3 of the best hospitals in the world. im all for helping the working middle class. the top 1% and the bottom 20% are equally as bad. they both just take from everyone else. Ron Paul is logical and is the logical choice but it would never happen.

Wait... that doesn't make sense. "If you hate socialism, move to a socialist/communist country."

That makes about as much sense as,"I hate socialism,so move the manufacturing base to a socialist country, borrow money from the same socialist country so you can buy their products and then bitch about U.S. unemployment and taxes."

Ah, the lovely circlejerk. I can't wait to be regaled with tales of how things would be in Republican bootstrappy Amurica.

Well, if an R was in charge gas would be well over 3 bucks a gallon and the oil companies would be making record profits. Large corporations like Apple and GM would be making huge amounts of money and paying little or no taxes. And that isn't even the really bad part.

If we had an R in the White House Gitmo would still be open and close to 300 prisoners would have been declared too dangerous to release and not eligible for trial, or a lawyer or anything. Just an executive order life sentence. The Patriot Act would have been extended TWICE and made far more powerful.

Oh, and the CIA would be assassinating US Citizens overseas by order of the President.

Oh wait, never mind.

you should ask why you have to pay more taxes than rich people.

why you pay more taxes than someone with a kid.

why you pay school taxes for schools you don't utilize (no kids attending)

why republicans want to be in control of a government when they claim the gov is the problem.....

why do you want mit romney when he became rich doing the exact same business model that he slams the gov for over the bailouts. even claims it's "immoral". what a hypocrite.

Here we go again...another silver spooner running for the white house.

Like W,Romney's biggest achievement in life is being a rich man's sperm.

We're still digging out from the last republican sperm count's idiocy.

Republican party...the party of Alzheimer patients.

This is sad. We all talk about "Political Parties" like they mean something.

Democrats and Republicans are all bought and paid for by their "Sponsors" aka "Campaign Contributors", and vote the way they have been paid to vote.

This is equivalent to paying someone to clean your house. You pay for them to vacuum, do dishes, pick up, etc. If you want the silverware to be polished, then you will pay extra.

^^ I had a nice analogy using prostitution for sexual favors.....but you get the point.

Our government(and the media) are not "For the People, by the People", they are held for auction, and paid for by the highest bidder. We have the thin veneer of Democracy covering an Oligarchy based upon wealth.

There is little or nothing we can do to make a difference, other than do the research into our candidates, and vote based upon their track record.

Unfortunately, there are too many lemmings who just soak up and follow the political (and media driven) rhetoric, to allow the intelligent voters to try and clean up this mess.

{This rant brought to you by my work....making me get up at the ass-crack of dawn to perform maintenance on the systems......}

Have you reimbursed the people that paid for your school when you were a kid?

I would say so. my parents were paying taxes for the schools when I went. plus the fee's to attend.

which brings up a point that I wanted to bring up. why don't people in apartments have to pay property taxes to support the schools? why is it only the people who want to own a home responsible for the bill?

all I want is a level playing field. eveyone chips in equally. get rid of all this loop hole exemptions bull crap. like apple is reported to have been able to skip out of paying a few billion dollars in taxes this year because of loop holes they use. where they keep their money, where they list their headquarters. in las vegas I think it is where there is some kind of taxless system for companies there. something to that effect.

of course I can't blame them for using it but why are they even able to? that's bullshit. if you tried to list your home at a place like that but live where you do the IRS wouldn't let you even try that crap.

A lot of truth in what you said.

If it wasn't for the debt that I feel I owe to the men and women that served in combat I wouldn't vote.

Nope. Using todays numbers, about 1500 bucks a year in property taxes for schools...certainly varies a bit but that is a good average number...let say someone owns a house for 40 years. That is 60 Grand your parents paid. Typical district today spends 12K per year per child. That is 144K. You still owe 84K. So now you are paying the rest of it back.

which brings up a point that I wanted to bring up. why don't people in apartments have to pay property taxes to support the schools? why is it only the people who want to own a home responsible for the bill?

They do, they pay rent which the landlord uses to pay the maintenance, mortgage and taxes on the building.

I completely agree. We need to eliminate property tax based funding for schools and go to a straight income or sales tax. And yes the loopholes need to go away. Something very close to a flat tax. The Apple deal is pretty amazing but the deal GM is getting will blow your mind. Companies can take the tax deductions for losses over the course of 20 years. GM of course lost a boatload just before the government bailout. Basically GM was able to get rid of all that debt, all those polluted closed factories....but the got to keep all the loses on paper so they can deduct them for the next 20 years. It is very unlikely that GM will pay any taxes at all for 20 years.
