I use Huntington and I don't have any fees

I opened a business checking account with these guys and it says right on the damn paperwork I signed it's free with no fee's well after 3 months I started getting fee's. so I said fuck these guys and closed it. I'm surprised that they didn't charge me for closing it like personal checking accounts do. or did.

I use 5/3 only because they're everywhere and open on sundays in Kroger. I have the totally free checking with them but I had a standard account for quite a while before they upgraded me to the free one.

my mom had issues with huntington also and swears not to use them. I had 2 car loans through them and I have to say they gave me the best interest rates.

I didn't read the whole post, so sorry if it's a repeat! Look into www.usaa.com used to have to be military to get in, not sure of they changed it, I do my insurance, credit, house, savings, checking everything thru them, no fees, the biggest drawback is they only have branches in TX or something but they overnight everything to you on their dime, that needs signatures and the rest can be over the phone or online.

I have a 2007 Chevy silverado, 2003 escape and 2003 escort, 1978 Suzuki gs550 and a Ducati 750SS all covered thru them less then 100 a month $100 deductible and 2x state minimum coverage.

And I get a profit sharing check every year, usually it's about equal to an insurance payment. (month)

Edit: no ATM's but I get refunded up to 15 or 30$ a month,

For my regular checking account with chase, I don't have any fees. I also have a loan and a car loan through them. But when looked into adding a savings account the restrictions and stipulations are crazy.

I just opened 2 savings accounts with Chase and the banker I dealt with was doing everything he could to get me around their fees. Basically, I'd rather pay a few $ a month for a savings account linked to my checking account to avoid overdraft fees, which is $34 each hit. I know about overdraft fees. :nono: I'm glad I have that taken care of!

I have PNC and I have never paid a fee for any of my several accounts with them. These are carryover accounts from National City, but I don't think they have fees on new accounts either. I don't think Chase has any fees as well.

Oh they've got fees. More importantly though; their interest rates suck.

.10% APR equals $0.001 for every dollar compounded annually. You make a dime for ever hundred dollars in their account. Their high end account is .20%.

5/3 is 0.02%.

PNC 0.01%

Kemba Financial Credit Union isn't much better, at .12% and .22% respectively.

It's bad enough these :asshat:s pulled of the biggest defrauding of the US people and then paid a pittance for it, but they don't even have the decency to give any account a whole percentage point of interest?

When are we going to wake up to how awful we're being treated as citizens?

See, that's the thing. When you start compromising like that, that's when the nickel and diming starts incrementally getting worse and worse. Why would you voluntarily pay someone to automatically transfer a little bit of your own money from one account to another if you go negative when there are so many institutions who will do it for free?

Personally, I don't want to have to keep banging on doors to continually get around the fees, I just want there to be no fees. I understand that online banking and ATM's cost money, however there are no shortage of traditional income streams that banks already have between loan interest and interest on depositor money. I don't want to do business with a place that I constantly have to remind them that I'm a customer, not a new potential fee income stream.

Yeah, but then they hit you with a transfer fee, and if I remember correctly when I had "over draft" protection: It ended up costing me more than the overdraft fee.

didnt read the whole thread.

i have CME and i love it. been with them for years.

atm locations arent a problem, any credit union atm is no fee...theres kembas everywhere lol

you only get 6 online transfers per month, but the lady explained something about that being a law for some reason....you can go into the bank or possibly call them and do additional transfers over the phone...no fees for the additional transfers, just physically cant do them online, fee or not

Wife had am idle account at Huntington that she never.checked it was just there for an emergency fund. She had over 500 bucks in it. She decided to close it one day and looked to see how much she had.in of and found out she only had like 300 bucks. Turns out since it sat idle they started charring herlike 10 bucks a month for not having so many transactions. It went in noticed for over a year and a half. She was pissed and left them for good.

Ive been with USAA since 07. Amazing customer service. Love how all my services are integrated.

The only downside is that there is no physical bank location. No fees for anything I do. I believe they opened it up to non-MIL members also...may want to check into that.

They have. The only things that I can't get are their insurance and check depositing via smartphone, which is the single reason why I keep my checking account at Chase.
