Looks like the 1000, sorry, I mean 10000, no, sorry, I meant 4 million jobs won't be created.

But hey, at least people will still continue to have potable drinking water without fear of contamination. That's a plus.

We are still waiting on those million shovel ready jobs the stimulus promised.

But I kinda like what he Canadian prime minister said. Ill paraphrase .... "You Americans are absolutely nuts. If you want to treat your whole country like an off-limits National Park you go right ahead, but you can't make us treat our country that way. And if we have to we'll run a pipeline to the Chinese...... We're gonna move this oil."

Its pretty simple. Its an election year and Obama needs to secure his base and pander to the wacko environmentalists.

Besides, creating private sector jobs kind of goes against his agenda of making everyone dependent on the government. How is he gonna get re-elected and keep us all in line if we aren't dependent on him somehow?

So here's a question, is the keystone project still profitable at the projected $60 per barrel price of crude oil?

If so, would the Markey amendment drive the price of oil for the us even further down?

Warren Buffett and his interests in BNSF had a significant role in lobby against the pipeline. The environmental aspect is to draw down to the lowest common denominator for the sheep in this country.

Yes. Because rail cars are som much better at moving oil than pipelines. Look for food prices to go up BTW, as the rail lines get filled to capacity and corn rots in storage while uncle Warren pays for his rail acquisition with five year's worth of cash flow.

Yea, kind of like the estimates of around 25 million that will be covered by Obamacare by now. They all lie to you. And all of you dumbasses believe whatever lie fits your warped views of the world.

I usually come here to find the truth. At least somewhere between none of the time and almost always.

The 'jobs lost' numbers are rather ambiguous just like those being touted concerning the casino's that were built here in Ohio.  But I believe there will still be many jobs lost if it doesn't get approved, and I think it will.  The vote was very close as it was, so once congress re convenes it will most likely get pushed through.

Seems a lot of those are of the NG type.

I hadn't google it honestly but when he said catastrophic I think more along the lines of Valdez, The gulf spill and such.

The list of rail accidents is just as long.

Yea, not as many with the long-term impact as releases into water, which doesn't accept oil spills as resiliently as land, but alternatively I think groundwater sources used by concentrated populations are easier to contaminate with land accidents.

What? The virtuous Warren Buffet has ulterior motives? No!! I can hardly believe my ears!! /sarcasm

Yeah - the man crush the media has with Warren is amusing.  A good business man, meaning he's also a lying sack of poo poo.

But very very good and managing his image.
