Just joined ADV rider with my new found interest in adventure riding...There are some really crazy stories including the thread im reading now about x2 24 year olds that head out from washington into S.America.

Anyone have other adventure threads?

this is a girls from CO who the riders in the above thread meet up with and then go their separate ways

My big riding days have slowed way down due to unemployment. But there are lots of stories on ADV by locals doing cool trips. There's a couple of us in the Norteast forum under ADV in Ohio.

Here's a recent one from a fellow ADV rider and his son:

And an old one of mine:

I've stayed up all last night reading the linked posted from advrider...what a trip he's on. I better quit before I'm up all night again

I always read them when its slow at work. There are some amazing stories on there. Tonik posted one awhile back about a trip these guys took in Africa??? and it was the first one Ive read. It was still one of the best ones Ive read.

Oh found it Angola....

EDIT: Maybe not work safe. There are topless pics of locals. National Geographic type pics, nothing 'pornographic'.

  • 3 weeks later...

Been a member of ADV since 2005. Been riding That style bike since 1989.

Check out this....... http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352629&highlight=ruckus+korea it is about a Korean kid who came here and rode a 50cc Honda Rukus around America. ADV is not about the kind of bike, it is a state of mind.

Next year I plan to ride my Trail 90 the 40 miles into work one day. Staying out of soccer moms way will be a real adventure on a bike that tops out at 40mph.

Also look at stuff StrikingViking has done.

Ouch but its very true

Guess I don't see that. Most everyone I've ridden with here has been great. There's been a few punk kids but that's about it. Most are good people who just like to ride. The ones who talk shit are usually the ones that don't show up for a ride.

Advrider is just alot more motorcycle oriented. There are a few hardcore riders on here (most of which are also on advrider) but its just not the same. Just seems like more gossip than riding here

I call it local flavor. :D I've hooked up with some good people here and on ADV. Like anything else what you get out of it is is proportional to what you put into it.;)

Biggest thing is there are far more sport bike riders here but it's still interesting to connect with riders with different interests. Even the cruiser riders can add a new perspective from time to time. ADV has Jo Momma which keeps a lot of the fluff out of the regional forums.
