:wtf:

Along with concern over China's ownership of trillions of dollars of U.S. debt, it is truly troubling that an American company financially supported now by the U.S. taxpayer is happily promoting Communist propaganda that glosses over the atrocities of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. What's next for GM? Selling military vehicles for the Chinese to threaten their own people with?

You don't understand, Buick's are HUUUGE over there. It's the American equivalent of hitting the American Dream, instead of 2 cars in the driveway you have a Buick. It doesn't surprise me at all that demand there is outpacing demand here. GM can't seems to make a car that Americans really want, and make that car well. Ford learned their lesson, it seems that GM still, predictably, hasn't.

Until they pay back ALL the government funds (not just the TARP funds they used government borrowed funds to pay back) and demonstrate they can make a car worth a shit, they can kiss my ass.

Of course Chevy supports it. An American (????) Socialist bailed THEM out. Disclosure: We own an '03 Chevy Avalanche, and love it, but will not buy another one, even with my father-in-laws GM discount. Won't buy any Chrysler-related product either. All the talk of both of their "new profits", but no intent to pay "us" back. I would buy a Ford in a heartbeat (now that Chevy is the Chinese Heartbeat, instead of The Heartbeat of America).

Turns my stomach. Literally.

George Bush is an American (????) Socialist?

You do what you gotta do to make a buck, amirite? C'mon, if you think about it, GM's capitalism is undermining the communism film it sponsored. So, how about them apples.

Ohh, then there's this.

GM responds to accusations that it’s financing Chinese communist film

On Tuesday, reports surfaced accusing General Motors (GM) of sponsoring and financing a Chinese communist propaganda film. First reported by the Washington Times, the story is winding its way through the web and and risks becoming another blight on “Government Motors.”

According to Greg Martin, director of policy and Washington communications for GM, the automotive company played no role in the film celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“It was not GM,” Martin flatly told The Daily Caller.

The sponsor, Shanghai GM, said Martin, is a distribution and sales network that “is a completely separate and distinct business entity based in China that has no organizational or financial ties whatsoever” to the Detroit-based company.

“It is not GM. It is not GM money. And it is in no shape or form, or indirectly, taxpayer money,” Martin told TheDC.

He confirmed that no GM vehicles appear in the film, though some of the actors were transported in Cadillacs.

In 2009, GM received a $50 billion bailout from the federal government. While GM has been working to pay off the loan, the U.S. Treasury still owns a 33 percent stake in the company.

China’s emerging auto market has been enormously beneficial to GM sales. The company not only surpassed Toyota in sales this year, but in 2010, GM sold more cars in China than it did in the U.S.

“It’s disappointing and somewhat predictable,” Martin said of the news reports. “It’s unfortunate.”

But hey.... *rabble rabble rabble* on ORDN.

Please stop infecting the usual "Socialist...Obama sucks...Left wing...blah blah blah" rants with the truth. You're confusing people. You know most folks don't really care about silly things like....facts.

Daily Caller or Washington Times... Daily Caller or Washington Times...

Shanghai General Motors Company Limited (Shanghai GM; Chinese: 上海通用汽车) is a joint venture between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC). Shanghai GM manufactures and sells automobiles in mainland China. The company manufactures and sells Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac vehicles

But they have nothing to do with GM at all, no relation, nothing.

And for the record, I did get that from Wikipedia.

I don't know an easy way to explain the corporate structuring of Chinese businesses and how Americans get their 'foot in the door' to sell their goods to China.

Suffice to say it's more complex than the headline "GM sponsors Commie film".

Well they fucking should, I have to imagine that division is just printing money over there. Send that shit back to the mother ship!

Deleted. I told myself that the aggravation isn't worth it.

Aww, how cute. Hey man, if you're going to go full freeper or teabagger, you might as well be proud of it. This posting, waiting for someone to quote your post, then withdrawing your opinion isn't very becoming of your "bootstrappy" people.

Anyone that thinks they can buy only "American" is a moron.

Even if something is "made" in america it's likely that SOME component of it came from somewhere else. I'm sure someone will find examples to contradict me, but there are exceptions of course.

anyone that has ever shopped at walmart is also a supporter of communism.

Anyone that has ever received a gift from their parents is a communist. You didn't EARN that gift, your parents are spreading the wealth. Especially if it's a gift certificate to Walmart. :p
