That kid is doing what he needs to do to cash in. If you had a chance to be a sellout, you wouldn't take it? I'd love to make hundreds of thousands of dollars just speaking my mind. Why am I important? Because I fucked someone related to someone of fleeting importance... how trivial is that? Yet, if that's what our society has become, I'll tell you whatever you want to hear because you think I'm someone worth listening to and laugh at you and the rest of the people all the way to the bank.

Regarding Bristol, don't get me wrong, I wouldn't kick her outta bed (well, maybe I would, I have a thing about not doing girls w/ kids, that's my issue though), but she's not any cuter than the next girl.

I think he's being an idiot for being a sell out and alienating his baby's mother's family. I have no idea what kind of payday he's getting, but I'd imagine he'd get just as much $$$ by saying innocuous no meat comments.

I'd imagine that if he pushes em too far he'll end up never seeing his kid - I don't see any amount of payout being worth it.

A book deal and a movie for him, yeah right - he's being strung along for comments and dirt. Would I sell out ? Nope. I would especially never risk alienation from my own kid.

Well, that's you. There are plenty of sperm donors out there that don't give two shits about their offspring.

And, if it came down to that, there's MORE spotlight for him as he fights the custody battle PUBLICLY against Bristol. That would be a dumb move on the Palins' part if they tried that.

Because you're not a douchebag. Levi is. All he sees are TV cameras in his face and fast-talking producers throwing half-cocked "business" deals at him. He's building his own echo chamber. As you recall, the same thing happened with K-Fed at the height of the Britney drama.

And no, he wouldn't get as much cash with innocuous comments. Bottom-feeders feed on drama. Manufactured drama pays, but nothing pays better than the real thing. Innocuous, low-key comments pay for shit.

"In his report, Daniel said his interpretation of the ethics act is consistent with common sense.

An ordinary citizen facing legal charges is not likely to be able to generate donations to a legal defense fund, he wrote. "In contrast, Governor Palin is able to generate donations because of the fact that she is a public official and a public figure. Were it not for the fact that she is governor and a national political figure, it is unlikely that many citizens would donate money to her legal defense fund."

Commons sense says they're just trying to screw her any way they can? Basically he's saying if she was a nobody she could try and raise all the money she wanted, but since she is a public figure, she's not allowed to cause thats not fair to all the other poor schmucks out there? Its okay for Levi to cash in on the families fame, but Sarah can't do it herself when she needs help footing the bill for a bunch of BS ethics complaints, this one included.

Should I file an ethics complaint against incumbent politicians because they can raise more campaign money than I can because they're already well known?

Would she be sued if she used her notoriety to raise more charitable contributions (to say the United Way for example) than some normal joe schmoe? Its okay to use your notoriety for the betterment of society, but not the betterment of yourself?

Palin Leaves Behind Mismanaged AK Health Care System - Hundreds Die Waiting For Care

Perhaps Sarah Palin made that ridiculous statement about "Obama Death Panels" because she knew this story was going to break -- it was happening in her own state, right under her nose:

State programs intended to help disabled and elderly Alaskans with daily life -- taking a bath, eating dinner, getting to the bathroom --
are so poorly managed, the state cannot assure the health and well-being of the people they are supposed to serve
, a new federal review found.

The situation is so bad the federal government has forbidden the state to sign up new people until the state makes necessary improvements.
No other state in the nation is under such a moratorium, according to a spokeswoman for the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

In the meantime, frail and vulnerable Alaskans who desperately need the help are struggling. One elderly woman is stuck in a nursing home, for lack of care at home. Another woman, suffering from chronic pain and fatigue, said she's so weak, she often can't even pop dinner into the microwave.

This is the GOP's alternative to a public or universal option. Sarah wants to talk about evil socialist plans that will kill people, but I betcha she doesn't want to talk about the hundreds of Alaskans who died waiting for these services.

A particularly alarming finding concerns deaths of adults in the programs.
In one 2 1/2 year stretch, 227 adults already getting services died while waiting for a nurse to reassess their needs. Another 27 died waiting for their initial assessment, to see if they qualified for help.

In honor of the people of Alaska who died on her watch, Sarah Palin needs to stop makin' stuff up about health care reform, and apologize for screwing things up and then running away when the going got tough.

Here's the other article:

The moratorium is expected to last four or five months. State officials estimate about 1,000 Alaskans will be affected.

Funny how Fox didn't post her entire quote Good thing we don't have her a VP thinking that politics is a superficial, wasteful bloodsport. If she thought that, why would she be vying for that job?

She probably didn't feel that way until the media mess while she was running for VP

Doubt it. The media has been like that for a long time. She just seems to whine more an anyone about it. Doesn't help she's too dumb to answer event the simplest of questions and she talks like she barely made it out of the 8th grade.

But she hadn't experienced a hostile media until she ran for VP was my point, thereby possibly changing her outlook on things

She's such an idiot she's STILL making the news.

She's now a Fox contributor - no surprise there

Authors: McCain aides worried that Palin was ‘mentally unstable’

It's a perfect storm for former lawmaker Sarah Palin.A book due out this week by political journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin has all the right politicos sweating and backpedaling, from John McCain to the Senate majority leader, and even Bill and Hillary Clinton.

But in "Game Change", it's Palin who really takes it on the nose.

According to an advance copy thoroughly dog-ear'd by The New York Times, some McCain staffers who worked directly with Palin began to worry that she could be "mentally unstable."

After her misstatements and outright lies repeatedly caused the campaign to stumble and backpedal, a discussion began to emerge: Were McCain to win, how best could they relegate her "to the largely ceremonial role that premodern vice presidents inhabited"?

After all, "it was inconceivable," they wrote, "if McCain fell ill or died, the country be left in the hands of a President Palin," according to the Times.

The book also claims she almost completely neglected preparing for her debate with Vice President Joe Biden, and couldn't even pronounce his name correctly, calling him "O'Biden" repeatedly.

They instead encouraged her to ask, "Can I just call you Joe?"

The former lawmaker is also being targeted by McCain's top political strategist, who gave a tell-all interview to "60 Minutes".

"There were numerous instances that she said things that were – that were not accurate that ultimately, the campaign had to deal with,” said Steve Schmidt. "And that opened the door to criticism that she was being untruthful and inaccurate. And I think that is something that continues to this day."

In the interview, Schmidt points to an Alaska report on the so-called "Troopergate" scandal. The report, covered extensively by RAW STORY, illustrated how Palin abused her power as Alaska's governor by helping ensure a public safety commissioner would be fired following a family dispute.

"She went out and said, you know, ‘this report completely exonerates me,'" Schmidt told CBS. "And in fact, it didn't. You know it’s the equivalent of saying down is up and up is down."

Schmidt said that ultimately, Palin helped McCain rather than hurt him, according to Politico.

“I believe, had she not been on the ticket our margin of defeat would’ve been greater than it would’ve been otherwise," he reportedly said.

This video is a preview of a CBS News interview set to air Jan. 10, 2010

Palin's Tea Party Crib Notes

Closer inspection of a photo of Sarah Palin, during a speech in which she mocked President Obama for his use of a teleprompter, reveals several notes written on her left hand. The words "Energy", "Tax" and "Lift American Spirits" are clearly visible. There's also what appears to read as "Budget cuts" with the word Budget crossed out.

(Photos AP)

Final Thoughts:

Just to be clear: The notes most likely weren't for her speech, for which she used prepared remarks, but for the Q&A session that followed, during which she glanced at the hand in question.

But in my opinion that's even worse.

There were no specifics on there, just general concepts and things she supports.

The takeaway is that this presidential contender apparently can't remember her supposed core principles and needs a cheat-sheet when simply asked about her beliefs.

To quote Charlie Brown:

Good grief.

-----

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (8 PM CST)

Ahh sweet Earl Grey Revolution! Sarah Palin knew that speech like the back of her hand. The Q&A answers, however, were on the front of her hand.

Or so it appeared.

During the Q&A following her speech at the Tea Party Convention, Ms. Palin appeared to read from her hand in answering.

The following image was caught by some sharp-eyed Twitter users, notably @jryanlaw

UPDATE #2: A high-quality video on youtube seems to prove that something was indeed on the palm of Palin's hand. The question is what.

Close-Up:

2010-02-07-Picture2.png

UPDATE #1: And, via ThinkProgress, the Video:

Crib Notes? This potential presidential candidate and "movement" leader was using crib notes to answer basic questions?

This would mean:

A) That she knew the questions beforehand and the whole thing was a farce. (Likely.)

and

B) That she still couldn't answer the previously agreed-upon questions without a little extra help.

If true, this is supremely rich coming immediately after a speech in which Palin took a shot at President Obama for using a teleprompter to read his prepared speeches.

You can bet that the President wasn't reading scribbles off his extremities while he sparred with Republicans and Democrats in an unscripted format in his recent Q&As.

Palin, on the other hand, seems to need a cheat-sheet just to get through a contrived lovefest with a smitten interviewer and an adoring audience.

I'm no fan of the Tea Party movement - if it can be called such - but if this is their leader I actually sympathize with them.
