If you go, be sure to spend lots of monie$$$$ to support the cause.

Buy tea and coolers to support retail spending on Chinese products!

Buy beer to support your local taverns who have to pay taxes on alcohol!

Buy stickers and buttons to support the CEOs of sticker and button companies!

Show "the man" who's boss by massive consumerism. Just don't do anything to get the cops involved, they're supported by your tax dollars.

I caught Glen Becks show today Live from the Alamo. It was very interesting to see this nationwide movement. The next set will be HUGE.

Kudos to Casper and anyone else attending.

I spent whole $6 on parking and that was it for 5 people.

If we were having a protest that turned into a riot I'm sure you would approve. Destroy some public and private property is what a good protest is all about right? Sure it's such a terrible thing to be fed up with the government wanting us to serve them instead of them serving us.

That's all I'm gonna say. I will not waste my time.

I'll refer you back to post #19, where the comment was made that the Fox pundits [and protesters] said little or nothing about the huge deficits run up by President Bush, but Barack Obama's budget and tax plans have driven them to tea.

You know what else is funny... the vast vast majority of people out protesting taxes, Obama just REDUCED their taxes. So, explain that one.

Jon Stewart said it best tonight, and I can only paraphrase because I don't have the vid, but "So, you're protesting wasteful spending, by wastefully spending money on 'teabags'." Got it.masculine_friendly_cover_thumbsup.png

Still better than blindly following behind a government that has obviously lost it's purpose. Act now or act never.... I'll take now. You can take never, do what you want :bigfinger:

I think President Bush was a complete waste of eight years for this country. I didn't vote for him. I didn't agree with the war in Iraq. I believe we should be in Afghanistan full force. With that said, Bush doubled the national debt from $5T to $10T in eight years. Obama has increased it $1T in FOUR MONTHS. At that rate, by the time he's out of office (assuming he isn't reelected), that's a $12T increase. He's already said he'll give more money to the banks. He wants to provide healthcare for everyone. He wants to bail out homeowners who bought poorly. He wants to take care of everyone. That's asinine. Pay your own fucking mortgage. Pay for your own fucking healthcare. Don't try to stimiulate the economy. The economy was in a boom because the majority of the country was wasting their money away on Gucci shoes and Cadillac Escalades. Don't encourage that reckless spending. Encourage saving and being frugal. Don't encourage the bad practices the banks and automakers have been making for years by protecting them from failure. Make them fix their own fucking problems or go bankrupt. That's capitalism. Without the risk of failure, it's socialism. Everyone needs to step back and look at the big picture. Bush was a fucktard. He wasted a lot of money. Obama, who preached change, is already on track to spend in four years more than double what Bush spent in eight years. I'm not a Republican, FYI. However I did vote for Ron Paul in the primaries. I'm surprised so few people voted for him. I bet if the election was held right now, he'd sweep it.

Lost it's purpose...? Obama hasn't even been in office for 5 months and the world is coming to an end? He inherited this crap from the last guy, and yet you want to take action without giving him a chance to even start to fix all the crap that the last administration screwed up.

(Caspers quote)

A cognizant intelligent response. You have a good point about the trend, but I don't think it's a trend. I think of that more at the cost of the towtruck needed to pull the US out of the ditch the last administration drove us into. Only time will tell. Obama does have wishful thinking, but I think the plans are sound - when you make fiscal projections, that's all they are, projections - and will have to be constantly adjusted up or down based on reality. I'm 99% confident Obama won't make all the promises he promised, so we'll just have to see which ones he prioritizes to see if he'll make another 4 years.

I'm not worried about the immediate spending. And the healthcare thing we can save for another thread, but suffice to say SOMETHING has to be done with that because we spend the most per capita than everyone else, and at the current rates we can't afford to have this trend continue - the GDP won't bear it.

He didn't inherit it all from Bush. Like Casper said he is on his way to spending more than any average man can comprehend. To me it's just not Obama or his cabinet. Though I do think he has created a situation in which makes people look at the gravity of the situation and figure out what they can do! My main issue is what I said before the government has lost it's purpose. Did I say when this started to happen? If I did please show me quote my post or whatever! I don't recall do so. I honestly think it has been going on since the Bush I. But that is only as long as I have been paying attention. I'm only 32 and not a history scholar. I am fed up with what I have seen in my short life and by reading the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The modern government is a failure. When I voted, like I believe i have said before, I vote for what I saw to be the better of the 2 evils. I didn't vote for Bush. I was to caught up with working 60 hours a week and supporting my family and my retarded drug habit I had. The elections were the last thing on my list of things to pay attention to. Now I have grown up and things have changed. I don't like where I have been, I don't like where it looks like we are going and want to do what I can to make sure my voice is heard. And today I found out I'm not alone. Many of us think we as people need to get more involved in the government and write our legislators more often and let them know that we do know what they are doing and how we feel about it. I think my decision is Patriotic and of Purpose. All I can hope is that more people will feel the same and get off their asses and do something about it. Not just this one time but for the remainder of our pitiful lives.

This little one here is one of three I hope to see a different America. An America that is made up of the people not a government that controls the people. But a personally responsible nation governed by the people, of the people and for the people.

Say what you want.....

100_3514.jpg here's 2 100_3510.jpg

But this little girl and her brothers and many others like them are going to be paying this debt and handing it to their kids. It has to stop some time. The sooner the better. Right?

You can't spend yourself out of debt, it's just a fact!

The last two are great!

The last one I like the "honk if I'm paying your mortgage" sign.

The last pic has the phone # to the Capital's switch board so you can let them know how much you like the signs.:broke:

Remember' date=' 48% of this nation voted against Obama. That is hardly what I'd call "alone."

I doubt all these people did vote against Obama. But we are here now and the Fed is going to be forced to listen. Even if Obama today when I watched him on TV said he didn't know about the Tea Parties. And this is just the "Mistake by the lake"

I've seen Glenn Beck on tv a few times, I dont watch him everyday, but I'd say he's a pretty sharp guy, and I agree with most of his views.

Bush was a terrible president, no doubt about that, the republican party is a sell out now days, they suck. obama is going to spend us into destruction, and grow government as large as possible. both parties suck. everyone at the top of the politician chain are so f'king corrupt it's sickening. we're f'king doomed. this country is doomed.. unless we have a 'v for vendetta' type revolution or something, maybe that's extreme, I dont know, but everything is going south and no one up top cares to do anything except line their pockets.

Just to make sure you know! He didn't call Cleveland the mistake by the lake. I worded that wrong and fixed it. But still to say he didn't know about the Tea Parties, GTFO. Gibbs must have been sucking his dong.

Uh, Huh, Well, Um, let me get back to you on that!

You do that Mr. Gibbs.

Sorry kind of off topic but it's late I'm tried and he pisses me off every time I hear him speak. But I still listen to him. It's the only way I'm going to know what their up to next. Because Obama just waits till the last minute and expects everyone to do what he says with out question!

I can't believe everyone on this board. Who do I blame? MTV and BET, we get to sit and watch spoiled rich kids get anything they want and we make them cultural icons. We are a nation filled with janitors that feel they deserve to drive an escalade and live in a 3000sf home. Mortgage bailouts not only bail out the dumbasses that are over their heads but also help preserve the value of the homeowners that pay their mortgage on time. Unfortunately it seems that every decision that needs to be made is a lesser of two evils situation.

The $8,000 tax credit for home buyers will not help anyone who is irresponsible with their credit due to tighter lending practices. So every hard working person that pays their bills on time has the oppurtunity to move up a notch. I for one will be taking advantage of the depressed real estate market. With the amount of retirement contributions that I currently make I hope the market stays fucked for at least a couple more years, because i am planning on retiring before I am too old to enjoy it.

SO my advice to everyone is to stop pissing away money and invest in some of the more fiscally solid companies out there, if you think China is going to take over the world invest in some international funds
