The safety advantage and almost insignificant weight penalty (a few grams) make them a logical choice for the serious rider, road or track. The guard works simply by placing a block in front of the brake lever so that, should you come into contact with another bike or rider, you’re much less likely to end up on the ground as the result of a locked front tire. Each model-specific carbon fiber brake lever guard comes with all the required installation hardware for fitting it to your bike’s OEM clip-ons. All you have to do is remove the stock bar end and affix the included hardware in its place, along with the lever guard itself, and you’re all set. For those of you with aftermarket clip-ons installed on your bike, there’s also a kit available that’ll work with hollow clip-ons as well. Aside from that, it’s never bad having another piece of quality carbon fiber attached to your bike!
