How close to the AZ border are you coming when you go to NM? The Devil's Highway is right at the border of NM/AZ and is a stunning ride if you have room in your schedule for it.

TJ has spent a ton of time in Wyoming and Montana, these were his recommendations:

On day 4 through day 6 I would make it a 4 day trip instead of a 3. Way too much good riding in that area!   US14 out of Dayton Wy to Shell is one of my favorite trips, the scenery and roads are much more fun than 14A.  Make sure you hit Chief Joseph (296) on the way to or from Beartooth Hwy.

If you were camping I would say to hit Beartooth Lake campground outside of Cooke City.

Going to add this for sure, looks awesome. Will be a down and back but I want to hit it.

Literally just the corner, will stop at 4 corners monument and that will probably be all for AZ.

Yup that was the plan, since they are good for a year probably buy them real close to the time we leave so they might still be good into the following year. Heard the stories of the increase too. One would also thin the price of the annual pass will also increase. We will have to monitor this.

When we went out west a couple of years ago, we bought our annual pass at the 1st NP we came to.

weird you should mention the Coronado Trail guys

I'm riding it as part of tomorrow's route from Delores CO where I have a room tonight

Here's the route as Google Maps

Your dual sport will be the right weapon for the area about 20-30 miles north of Morenci...very tight twisties for several miles. If my memory serves me right there was a 10 mile stretch with a recommended 15 mph sign.

Carlsbad Caverns in NM is pretty impressive if you can work it in.

Think we have also decided to uninvite @Tonik. He wasn't going anyway it just wouldn't be a proper trip with out him bitching that he wasn't invited.  So that is now done.

I made it very clear a month ago via text that you are dead to me.

If you do decide to come down to AZ for the 191 ride let me know.  I'm only a couple hours from there.
