I don't see how that is better for anyone, unless they have prostate issues or something... I ran a mile yesterday. ONE mile. My legs feel like crap. I had more pain from one mile on a treadmill than I do from 25 miles of on/off road riding on the bike (which I did on Saturday afternoon, in 99% humidity).
