Quick Opinions Needed

I use helium in mine. Bike floats through the corners.

Just got my new tires. Date codes show that the rear is 3 years old in early April (1414) and the front will be 3 in early October (4014). Is that typical? I was hoping for a year or two old at most.

In fact, these ties were made around the same time as the ones I bought last year for a different bike. Kinda sucks.

You're overthinking this way too much. I highly doubt you are going to be pushing the tire to it's limits even if the age did effect it. It's not like the tire was laying in the back of someone's truck with water in it for 3 years. It's been stored properly in a warehouse, and probably in better shape than the tires on new bikes on the showroom floor.

No, I won't be pushing the design limits of the tires, although some cr*p on the road might if I freak out. heh

I think the new ones have a pointy-er profile at least. By the time they need to be replaced again, I'll probably want a different bike again.

See any dry rot?

 

If the answer is no, install the tires and beat the hell out of them this summer. 

 

If if the answer is yes, return them for tires with no dry rot.

No (visible) dry rot on the old ones even. I guess 3 summers isn't bad.

Oh, raising the idle a little made that tinking noise go away. It was down to maybe 1k RPM. Spec is 1300 +/-50.
