Brand new for Spring 2018, the Alpinestars Limited Edition Schwantz Supertech R Boots were designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Kevin Schwantz's World Championship title. These are extremely limited and we only have less then a hand full of each size. Made of microfiber and synthetic leather, the Supertech R is both light and durable. A new front flex area made up of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and mesh provides a more breathable and comfortable fit. This new construction is more abrasion resistant than the original version. The sole of the boot is made out of lightweight rubber that is flexible for when the rider changes positions. Ok guys, I've had a few people ask for this over the last day so why not. I will be updating as we accomplish things... So over the last few years I've been racing off and on between coaching and playing around. After taking a Hwt Twins championship and 7th in 600 superbike novice in 2017. I've decided to take my Racing a bit more serious. I know other than WERA and CCS it wont go anywhere, but its all about the fun for me. The second it becomes a chore or I'm not having fun it's time to stop. That said my buddy Joe and I decided that if we are going to do it... lets start fresh. Hey guys, So I was hoping to get in a track day or two this summer. I was going to go to NYST with some friends who ride (and live near) there, anyways I was going to go on a 'Rookie Day' - they have like teaching sessions, plus you follow instructors and build up speed, have suit rentals, etc. Well, that kind of fell through so I'm back to lookin "local" and was wondering what I could expect from a Novice session at Mid-Ohio? I've been riding for about 3 years now, takin' trips (was at the Tail of The Dragon last year - was awesome), as well riding most days when the weather permits. Though I didn't want to just jump into the track, because I know it's a whole different beast. Thanks!

Mid-O is running on Labor day (9/4) and the day after (9/5). As of right now, it's @jacobhawkins and myself confirmed. A deal too good to pass up has come my way and sadly I don't have room for more than 2 bikes so... My beloved project/track bike is being put up for sale. I picked it up from this forum 2 years ago and it's seen 4 track days at Mid-O with me as the pilot. I'm not in a super-duper hurry to sell... looking for $2,000. Bike runs well, but it may need its valves adjusted. Has a 996 front end, sprung stock with 7.5wt oil. Stock rear shock Bike is stripped down of all non-essential electronics Fuel injected Have title, clean Rear tire is new (Pilot Power 3) Front tire has maybe 2 or 3 more track days worth of life (take-off from my street bike) Fairings repaired and repainted over the winter, sharkskinz fiberglass Woodcraft rearsets OR sticker on swingarm (essential) Somewhere between 70 and 80 horsepower, she had some engine work done (higher compression) back in her WERA days, no bore kit or anything to my knowledge Fair warning, if you're looking for a pristine bike with no blemishes or beauty marks, this is not the one for you. Alpinestars Supertech R motorcycle boots use a two-piece design comprised of an outer shell and a separate, removable inner bootie. These two pieces work together to put your foot in a vault that’s surprisingly flexible, allowing the user to walk in a natural gait and control the bike with a reassuring feel, all without sacrificing safety in terms of crash protection. The exterior shell bristles with armor to protect the heel and the upper shin/calve areas from impact. Below this, a durable sole allows you to flex at the ball of your foot while being very rigid in front of and behind this point. The biggest difference between the Supertech R boots and that of their predecessors, is the inner Bio-mechanical ankle brace. Alpinestars Tech has chosen to use a new mesh material to further enhance wearer comfort through improved breathability and cooling performance. This highly engineered piece is designed to limit unwanted movement in a highly dynamic environment (like that of a crash situation) to reduce the risk of injury to the wearer. Working with the outer shell that’s designed to mitigate impact energy and resist abrasion, the two-part design is extremely well-adept to providing significant protection without hampering user control. How many products, motorcycle related or otherwise, can you name that have stayed on the market and remained competitive for more than five years? How about eight? That’s what the original Held Phantom managed to do. They’ve been winning awards and comparison tests since 2005, but that run has come to an end with the release of their successor - the Held Phantom II. The Held Phantom II retains the full kangaroo leather construction of the original, which makes it surprisingly flexible and lightweight considering how beefy they look at first glance. The inherent lightness of the kangaroo means that more protective elements can be added without making the Phantom II feel restrictive. Other features that go relatively unchanged from the original are the Kevlar lining on top of the hand, special stepped seams on the fingers for an unobtrusive feel, and stingray leather on the palm. Stingray leather is incredibly abrasion resistant and acts as a slider on the heel of the palm. Held had an excellent starting point with the original Phantom, but that doesn’t mean they only gave a fresh look to the old features. Many brand new elements were added to the Phantom II. Starting at the fingers, the Phantom II’s use a material called Superfabric on the knuckles of the pinky, ring and middle fingers. This is backed by Kevlar and shock absorbing foam for even more protection. Each of the first two fingers also have been given flex panels for easy manipulation of your controls while on the bike. Above the fingers on the back of the hand is a brand new, multi-layer knuckle protector. It uses a titanium slider that is seated in a molded TPU base, with thick, energy absorbing foam underneath it all. It not only protects, but it does so very comfortably. The wrist is guarded by a similar, layered armor scheme. The difference here is that instead of titanium, it is Superfabric that provides the first line of defense. The Held Phantom II is very well rounded gauntlet that provides some of the best protection available, excellent comfort, and a very supple feel.
