XT Lap Timers are a paddock favorite race bikes because they’re easy to use, reliable, and are truly an indispensable tool for any rider that’s serious about lowering lap times. If you want to get the most out of your time at the track and improve your riding, then you need an XT Ultra-Lap! Accurate data is the key to being able to tell if any changes you’ve made to your riding or your bike helps or hinders your circuit times. With an XT Ultra-Lap, you’ll be able to quickly verify if your times are better each instance you cross the line as the Ultra-Lap’s LED indicator lamp will show red if you’re slower, or green if you’re faster – than you were on your previous lap. At the end of every session, the device displays your fastest lap, your average lap time and your slowest lap. For your convenience, the Ultra-Lap’s software automatically divides up each track session along with track name and ambient temperature. This allows you to reference data easily at the end of the day, the next time you go to the same track or any time you want to look back at your progress with a memory of up to approximately 2,000 laps stored on the XT’s internal chipset. It’s never a bad idea to have your own beacon, just in case no one else shows up at the track with one. If you want to get really clever, it’s possible to configure your lap timer to measure section split times between the start/finish line on the racetrack with the use of additional beacons. The IR transmitter can be powered by either 4 AA batteries mounted internally or with an external 12V power source. Also ask about adding the fork clamp mount for an easy mount location.

AiM Solo AiM Solo DL Arguably the best lap timer ever made available from Riders Discount, the Solo has high-speed GPS, internal accelerometers, expansive data logging memory, USB download, a waterproof design, and a thoughtful feature set, all in one package. One of the many features is predictive lap times, a constantly updating real-time display of your current lap pace. Or, you can display a real-time +/- from your best lap time. The Solo records your lap times along with speed, track position, lateral g-forces, linear g-forces, yaw rate, heading, slope, satellite reception, and battery voltage. Each channel recorded at a frequency of 10-times per second (10 Hz). All tests are stored with a time and date stamp for on-screen review or PC download for further analysis. Download your Solo data to the included full version of RaceStudio2, AiM's professional data analysis software. Review your last session displaying your three best lap times along with duration and distance of the session, or a rundown of each lap along with max speed and minimum corner speed for each lap. A third data review page shows a histogram view of your lap times where you can identify patterns of driving or the tires coming in - or going away. Every lap you drive is mapped with great precision, which not only allows you to correlate data to track position, but also overlay maps to analyze driving lines. One of the most useful tools for analyzing driver performance and consistency is to break up the track into several sections and analyze sector timing and standard deviation within a test session. The Solo puts that powerful tool one click away on your PC. The track is automatically split up into straights and corners and a table provided with sector times for each and every lap. It also strings together your "theoretical best" lap, combining all your best sectors. A performance test ability is also built in, allowing you to measure 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile, and 0-60 MPH times. A huge benefit of a GPS based lap timer is no beacons. There's no beacon to forget nor will you have to hope someone else brought a beacon. There’s twenty-four lap timing satellites orbiting the earth - always on, and no batteries to replace. The Solo's internal lithium-ion battery will keep the Solo running for about 4 hours with the backlight on. Otherwise, a three-wire, 12V connection to vehicle power keeps it charged and running off the vehicles battery. Included in the box is the Solo (or Solo DL), Solo USB cable, USB/AC international power adaptor, 200 cm Solo power cable with 12V auto socket termination, mounting bracket, software CD (optionally downloaded). The difference between the Solo and Solo DL is the DL is a more advanced data logging model.
