    Sena

I got my Sena mount for my Bell helmet from Amazon today. Got the Sena mounted and paired to my phone and my TomTom GPS. Of course I had to go to Sena's site to download the manual. Whatever happened to paper manuals coming with the electronics that you buy?
  2. 600ZZ4eb

    Sena SMH10

Anyone hv one of these? If so, my speakers aren't working. It comes on and connects to my phone but no sound. I've reset it both ways listed in the book, but still doesn't work. Any thoughts? Thx E
  3. Which app Sena app have you downloaded from App Store. There are quite a few. Some called Sena utility and some others
  4. Bad324

    Sena SMH10

I've been hanging on to select pieces of gear just in case but think it's time to let this one go to a home that will get used $100 obo
  5. I've had an smh10 for a few years now and while it was initially a good product, I ended up ripping mine out today for a number of reasons. They don't fit bell star helmets. My last star was a 2011 model I bought used off of a forum member. I had to alter the helmet to clamp the sena on. I resorted to this after the 2nd adhesive panel failed. Even then, it would need tightened periodically or it would let go while riding and dangle by the wires. Bought a brand new bell race star helmet this year and no fucking way was I going to take a razor to it just to mount my sena, so I ordered a new adhesive mounting kit, cleaned my brand new, never rode helmet with the alcohol pad and stuck it on. Lasted less than 1000 miles before it let go. It had also been cutting out last year and continued to get worse this year, not sure if wires, pins or internal electronic issue but it was fucking annoying. The speakers took up so much space in the ear recesses that my ears would get pinned down against my head, not comfortable. So there, I'm pretty much done bitching about it. You want it? $100 obo.
  6. Has anybody found a plug and play option for upgrading Sena Speakers? The 10S does have an earbud jack so I could go that way if I had to but I don't really want to deal with the wires.
  7. Went to the iron pony with my girlfriend yesterday (she was buying a helmet) and she surprised me by buying me my birthday present. So I decided to go with the sena smh10r headset/intercom system. First impressions: very very low profile, easy to use buttons (I wear thicker teknic full gauntlet gloves), and sound quality is great. I had her get next to me in her car and spun the 1000 north of 100mph for a breif second and kept asking if she could hear me and to my surprise, she could! I couldn't hear anything other than the majestic sounds escaping through my arrow gp pipe however. Might switch the system over to my rkt101 carbon helmet though and see how well the quakity works as that helmet flows a massive amount of air. Its currently put in my scorpion exo1000 and I hate that helmet but, its warmer on cool nights.
  8. I have a Sena SMH10R and use an iPhone 7. Ever since I updated iOS to version 10 I have lost things that I used to be able to do. After the screen has gone to the lock screen I cannot answer an incoming call from the Sena. Also, I used to be able to do voice commands to play a different album, etc. It seems the problem is that Apple changed the wake up sequence from "home button, swipe right" to "home button, home button" and the Sena doesn't handle that. The Sena support people have not been helpful. They just tell me to reset the Sena. They will not answer a simple question - do you have an update that will let the Sena work with an iPhone running iOS 10? Frustrating. My Plantronics E550 earbud has the same problem. If you have a Sena and an iPhone, you might want to wait to update to iOS 10. Has anybody else seen this problem? Found a solution? Chris
  9. For those with experience in the helmet com/headset arena, what are your recommendations as far as models and the like go? Are there any comparable products to what Sena makes from another manufacturer? I'm looking for something to tap into phone via bluetooth and listen to music, directions and from time to time BS with people I'm riding with. Built-in camera and all that isn't important to me. Looking through reviews online, there are so many different models and each model seems to have things they are good at and things that should just be swept under the rug... I'd like to hear from people with first hand experience if at all possible.
  10. Earlier this year, I bought a new Neotec and Sena 10U from @RidersDiscount. And let me just state for the record, that Mike has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND what any would expect from a company. Thanks for everything you've done good sir. It's not your fault these guys are asshats... ANYWHO...get the unit installed and charged and immediately out of the box, the remote doesn't work. Doesn't hold a charge, doesn't do jack squat. Contact Mike, he says to contact Sena as that's what they want. Takes a few days for them to respond, and do the usual drivel of reset it, do what the manual says, yadda yadda yadda. So I finally get the RMA to send the remote back in for replacement under warranty. I end up having to harrass them for when it will be sent back as this was right at the time @JustinNck1 and I were heading down to Maggie Valley. Eventually they managed to get the remote to me the day before we left. And thankfully, this one worked as it should. Now let me also add that during this time I've been using the 10U without the remote. I'd only been getting at the most 6 hours of time before the battery shuts down. Now I know that is crap since lots of others have been getting double that easily. It gets to the point that while on our trip we have to pull off, plug it into a battery pack to charge for a bit, then unplug it to resume use. It gets old really fast. So, when we get back, I make contact again with my displeasure of the terrible battery life stating how others are getting MUCH better results than I am. I get the run around of try a reset, maybe a wire is pinched, a real line of BS basically. Kept in contact with Mike, to where he made some phone calls himself and finally got it to where they will do another RMA for the entire unit. Again, this is not something that he had to do, but willingly did it of his own accord. He has my business for life now. Get an email on 28th of June FINALLY saying a replacement will be shipped but gave no tracking info or anything. I wait. Emailed them yesterday stating I was curious as to when this will ship out since there was no tracking info attached. Get told that the 10U is now on backorder and they have no idea when it will ship. I'm getting pretty pissed. You pay good money for a product, hoping that it will work great like all the others do. Get maybe a couple months of use out of it and it is a total turd. Company is a pain in the ass to deal with. So if anyone else has to do a return with Sena for any reason..be prepared.
  11. Bought this in May from iron pony, used a handful of times, with the new bike having a stereo, I don't need these anymore. They are currently residing in the original box, with everything they came with.. Except the wall charger. Which is just a wall plug with dual USB ports, which you can pick up about anywhere for cheap. I left it at a hotel when we were on a trip. I just used one from my camera I had laying around after that. Everything else is there, the charge cables, 12v charger, manual, etc. $200

  13. Looking for a pair of gently used sena smh10's or like brand
  14. Thinking about grabbing one of the Sena bluetooth systems. Either SMH5, or SMH10. To those of you have experience with them, how are they? Can you listen to two devices at once? As in, if I had music playing, could I also hear another rider over the intercom, or GPS?
  15. I'm in the market for a new communicator. I've been using a Chatterbox and am just tired of all of its issues and cords so it is time to move on. Here are my requirements: Built in FM tuner - I commute and it is nice to listen to music without messing with a second device. Bluetooth - nice not to mess with cords. Wired mic - I wear a full face helmet and the boom on the Chatterbox is a pain in the butt. As I see it this limits me to: Sena SMH5-FM Scala G9, Q2, Q3 Any others? If you have one of these let me know how it works, how good is the tuner, would you buy again and any regrets. Thanks for your help.
  16. OK, first thing I want to say is thank you to Mike at Riders Discount. He gave me one heck of a deal on this system and I couldn't be happier. I wanted this headset due to my SMH10 has some age on it, and it has served me well. Nothing wrong with it, just thought it was time for an upgrade. So the 10U is build for the Neotec, everything is exact fit, which made install a breeze. I had the SMH10 removed and the 10U installed in less than 20 minutes. I charged everything up and started playing with all the settings. I will say, the remote will take some getting used to, but it makes it so much nicer by keeping your hands on the bars. If your someone who keeps your hands towards the inside of the grip, you might have issues. My pinkie fingers naturally rest on the bar ends, so I had no clearance issues. The clamp does come pretty close to the clutch lever when squeezed in though. My phone paired right up no issues, connected to my dad's Sena 20s in intercom mode, no issues. My first ride out, i noticed how much quieter my helmet is without having the unit on the side. The speaker quality seems better than the SMH10 and plenty of loudness. I do not wear ear plugs, but it would be plenty loud enough even if you were. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Once again, thanks to Mike at Riders Discount for giving an awesome discount, and using my 10U for the photo shoot. Here are some pictures of the unit installed on my helmet and the handlebar controller.
  17. Invisible from the outside, the Sena 10U Communication System is a built-in system that allows you to talk with up to four people within 1.6 kilometers thanks to Bluetooth Technology. You can also listen to your favorite radio station by activating the integrated programmable FM tuner. The Bluetooth Handlebar Remote is easy to use with gloves, allowing you to focus on the road rather than the device. The 10U is equipped with special noise control that blocks out distracting sounds such as wind, while still allowing you to be aware of your surroundings. MSRP$299.00 The Sena is easy to install, so you don't have to send your helmet out. The Sena 10U is available for the following helmets: Shoei GT-AIR Shoei Neotec Schuberth C3/C3 PRO All Arai Full Faced Helmets Pictured above is the Sena 10C, an external communication system. As you can see, the external system looks much different than the Sena 10U, which is pictured below. Pictured above is the Sena 10U installed on a Shoei Borealis Neotec If you have any questions about the product or would like to place an order, feel free to give MIKE a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. 18. bluetooth headset and camcorder in one! this may be the best idea I've seen in a while. https://rideapart.com/articles/video-sena-10c-bluetooth-headset-camera
  19. All new from Sena is the Sena 3S communication system that is available with either a boom or wired microphone depending on your helmet style. Featuring Bluetooth 3.0 technology, this unibody design is easy to install and offers all the features you want in a motorcycle communication system, at an affordable price point. The 3S allows you to communicate with another comm system, connect to your Bluetooth phone or GPS, listen to music, and control the device with voice prompts. A two year limited warranty is included with your purchase offering you total peace of mind. Not yet listed on our website, the 3S is available to order by contacting MIKE at 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Is email more convenient? Send us a message through this forum or write to us at FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM, and we'll get back to you right away! With Bluetooth 3.0 technology, the Sena 3S connects to your phone and/or GPS so you can wirelessly make phone calls, listen to music in stereo, or hear GPS audio instructions. Most importantly, you can communicate with another motorcyclist or passenger via the intercom system. The Sena 3S has a range of 220 yards (200 meters) with clear line of sight. The Sena 3S is incredibly easy to install and setup thanks to its unibody design. Using the included velcro pads, simply remove the cheek pads, place the 3S headset behind the cheek pads, route the charging port to the back behind the comfort liner, reinstall the cheek pads and you're done! Pairing With the 3S, there are only two buttons. The intuitive two-button interface is located on a control panel for the wired mic unit, or on the boom itself as pictured here. The buttons are responsive and able to be used with gloves on. A wired mic unit is recommended for full face helmets, the boom mic is recommended for 3/4 or modular helmets. We noticed the audio quality is very good on the 3S. Just like the more expensive Sena systems, the 3S offers crystal clear, natural sounding audio, and is integrated with an audio booster to overcome noisy environments. A noise reduction mechanism is also built into the headset giving you crystal clear communication with your riding partner. Interested? 20. Bluetooth communication asking 130 3 months old
  21. I have a used set of Sena SMH10 headsets that work great, I just upgraded to the 20S so no longer need these. Still have box and all hardware and accessories with the exception of 1 usb cable. Looking to get $125 for the set.
  22. If you haven't seen it before (I didn't until today), Sena has a remote that works with a number of their BT communicators. I have been personally struggling with where to put the remote that came with my 10U unit and this is a better alternative IMO. There's just not a lot of room on my grips on the SXR to put the original remote because of the built in jog dial interface on the clutch side grip of the bike. https://www.sena.com/product/rc3/ Maybe it's been out a while but I didn't see anything posted on here about it.
  23. Have had zero luck getting the sena goPro bakpak to pick up a 2nd rider. We r using the 10S Sena. As soon as the 2nd rider connects, the gopro drops out and records no audio. And it's very hard for me to troubleshoot, because my riding buddy with the other Sena lives 100 miles away. Any help is appreciated.
  24. http://www.sena.com/rideconnected-app/ Allows you to communicate in large radius groups with large groups of people as long as you have mobile service. Should really push the envelope in group intercom. All SENA products are compatible as well as long as they have the current firmware. Thoughts? @Tonik Needs to get it so we can talk to him without linking to his sena..
