  1. Think we can get a picture that one of us took from all 50 states? Doesn't have to be bike related, but bikes in the pic make it that much better. It needs to be a picture that you took. I'll start, here's Alaska (no bikes, it was cold)... Iowa (not many people go there to ride)... Oregon ... Be fun to see if there's a state that none of us have visited. EDIT - States posted: 1 - Alaska 2- Iowa 3 -Oregon 4 -Idaho 5 -Montana 6 -New Mexico 7 -Florida 8 - Ohio (duh) 9 - Wisconsin 10 -Kentucky 11 - Illinois 12 - Colorado 13 - Indiana 14 - Michigan 15 - Arizona 16 - Texas 17 - South Carolina 18 - Virginia 19 - Tennessee 20 - North Carolina 21 - Wyoming 22 -South Dakota 23 - Georgia 24 - Utah 25 - New York 26 - New Hampshire 27 - Vermont 28 - Massachusetts 29 - Pennsylvania 30 - Maine 31 - Nevada 32 - California 33 - Hawaii 34 - West By God Virginia 35 - Alabama 36 - Louisiana
  2. I've gotta stop in there next time I'm over that way - place looks huuuge. Not really a HD fan, but I do like looking at them and the shop looks cool.
  3. I'm sooo allergic to smoke from fires, cigs, etc - I can look at a picture of smoke and sneeze my brains out and get swollen eyes. I won't be going anywhere near a campground of any kind. I'll just meet you guys someplace.
  4. I love to take long tirps! Can't wait for summer to get here.
  5. I'm up for it -but I'll be staying in Athens in a nice hotel with a/c,hot tub, tv, pool ,etc. I'm just not much of a camper - at all.
  6. I buy some sheet aluminum and parts from these guys - http://aedmotorsports.com here in Indy. I'm going there later today. They have a big drop pile of metals and I'll see how much Ti they have for you. I saw some there a week ago, but didn't pay any attention to sizes.
  7. Try www.Mcmaster.com They have .250" up through 1.00" in about 1/8" increments and will ship small quantities. There's an airplane supply place in Illinois that has it as well, mostly smaller sizes - but I can't remember their name right now. And there's Ti Joe - http://www.titaniumjoe.com/SPECIALS.html What size do you need?

    Places to eat

Went to the Int'l Cycle SHow yesterday in Chicago (sucked) and ate at Portillo's on the way back. Two chili dogs and a Coke. Belched all the way down I-65 site: http://www.portillos.com/
  10. I crashed a street bike once, back in 1988... Riding by myself Cause: Bike exceeded available traction Okay, I went into a corner too fast, kept leaning and leaning until the centerstand grounded out and lifted the rear tire off of the ground. Thought I could just keep leaning and ride it out, but I was mistaken. Resulting highside flipped me off the road, through some trees and down a hill.
  11. Now that would be cool! I'd love it for my wife to be able to log onto the site and see where I are at any given moment on bike trips. Gotta figure out a way to make all titty bars appear as "dead" zones though...
  12. Partially true - but the internet ain't gonna work on the bike for you when you can't figure out what the Hell is wrong with it. But most independent dealers should be able to work on it, assuming they can get parts easily enough.
  13. Not a lot of faith in the masses, eh?
  14. I remember when they came out with a 125 years ago. It was, at that time, pretty much a Honda CR125 copy. Interchangeable parts between the two, etc. But that may have been mostly plastics, etc. They were fast and reliable but had no dealer network to speak of.
  15. The first 1/2 of 26 as you leave MArietta is smooth and nice, but it turns to absolute shit after that until you reach Route 800. Broken pavement and holes all over the place. I rode it last in Ocober of last year - dunno if it's been repaved at all since then.

    Cin. V-twin expo

Pretty much American - no Ducatis, etc. The big show for the rest of the motorcycle universe is next week in Indy - The Dealer Expo.
  17. I've got a great story from a Daytona AMA race a few years ago that I was involved in. Funnier when told in person of course.... John Jacobi was racing in the 200 and needed a pit crew. Reuben (35Motorsports) and I ended up being the entire crew. Reuben spent a couple of days in the garage making an ex-Vesrah endurance bike into a 200 bike while I watched. I probably swapped tires a coupel of times and put in some new brake pads, but that's all I did. On race day, we're pitted right next to Duhamel and Honda. Miguel comes in for his first pit, the bike is swarmed by pit workers - two tires, gas and out in 15 seconds or so. Jacobi comes in for his first stop. I'm standing there with the battery operated impact for the axles (Honda uses the high zoot air impacts) and John cruises right past me. Doh! We run past Honda and push him backwards to the pit. I pull the axles out, Reuben slams the new rims in and I replace the axles. Splash of gas and gone. Only took about 2 minutes and 45 seconds:D Jacobi blows outta the pits and I look over at the Honda crew - they're staring at us in disbelief like we're a bunch of noobs. The rest of the pits weren't all that much faster, but Jacobi did pretty well that day with a 15th place or so. Not bad considering who he had working for him. So, I too have AMA level experience. Doesn't make me fast though.
  18. Irish road racing is for real men, truly hardcore Can you imagine how slick those road markings are? http://www.northwest200.org/

I think it is. Bike looks worse in pictures than it is. Easily made back to stock or slap some race glass on it for track days.

Just got back from Reubenski's - he's busy working on shit today so he won't have time for pics. I, on the other hand, ain't doin' shit...so I snapped a few for you... Bike loooks really clean, has like 3,118 miles on it. Plastics are gone on one side but it looks great other than that.
  21. Any pics of the design? I'll take one regardless - shit, it's only $15-$20
  22. Nuthin' faster than an old guy that has been riding since he was 8 years old. Still, you'd think he would know better:D
