  1. It's been a long, wet day to get here, so we just crusie out for a quick look around. We'll hit the Castle tomorrow. A few shots from the streets of Edinburgh....
  2. We're staying in the Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa, with a great view of the Edinburgh Castle high on the rocks just outside of our window...
  3. Didn't haver net access for a day - sorry about that. We pick up the bike and ride through some of the shittiest weather ever to get to the Port of Larne, Ireland. We hop the P&O Ferry to Scotland and then ride through more shit to get to Edinburgh, Scotland...
  4. Fuck Obama, this shopkeeper has the economy issues figured out... I was going to post a bunch tonight, but the wife has informed me that I am going out now. More later.........
  5. Drank a couple of pints and continued to walk around town a bit. The Liffy REver cuts through the center of town...
  6. I like the Irish, they take their drinking seriously. Love the selection of drafts...

  8. First big trip of the year, hope this works out! Hopped a flight to Dublin, Ireland where we've been doing the tourist stuff for two days, picking up a BMW GS tonmorrow for two weeks of riding across Ireland and Scotland. Spent the last two days slumming it, camped out at the Westin in downtown Dublin...
  9. Ditto for my wife - she's 5'11" and can't find shit to fit her as far as riding gear goes. Wears men's stuff and it looks like shit. But at least the sleeves and legs are long enough.
  10. It's free and I still don't want it!
  11. I've been on that street! Westminster, England (London). That little red logo at the bottom of the pic near Bayswater is for the Underground (subway) terminal entrance.
  12. Never attempt to hang with the Mighty ST. Those tour bikes are fast!
  13. Neither - it was on Route 28 just north of Franklin, North Carolina. And where's my photo credit? Thieving bastids!!!!
  14. Yup, sounds just like the people I went to school with. I worked in a bar as a bouncer for three years there and learned to hate most of the freaks that went to OU as well. Got tired of putting up with their hippy shit. But I felt obligated to back up OU:D
  15. My in-laws live in Zanesville and I've riddden this road a thousand times. It's busted up most of the time - have yet to ride it since repaving. Did they pave the whole thing or just sections?
  16. Ahhh c'mon - give my alma mater a break. Great place to go to school back in the day.
  17. You spent more on a bike than you had in your budget? I don't know anyone that has ever done that. Welcome!
  18. Hello! We have lots of long trips planned for this summer, you're welcome to come along!

    My Dad.......

Hang in there, Carrie. We're thinking of you and you Father! Eric & Judy
  20. I don't like unions any more than most people, but the excessive contracts arent' all the union's fault. management agreed to these contracts. Management is just as much to blame as the union is. In GM's case, it was easier to agree to what the unions wanted than to fight them. For years, GM had more money than God and their labor costs wewren't all that much of an issue. Just pay them what they want and be done with it. I've been in many UAW plants over the years and was always amazed at the lack of efficiency, grossly overpaid people, too many people for the job, etc. It was much worse in the early 80's when I began working with these people, but a lot of it still exists today. Example: we were installigng production equipment in a beer can making plant this week. Our engineers were not allowed in the breakroom at lunch. We weren't allowed to use the bathrooms in the plant - had to go into the office area. Workers were assigned to be with us so we didn't "replace" them on the job as we installed the specialized equipment that they had no experience with. They did nothing, didn't watch us to learn the equipment - nada. Sat around and took breaks all the time. At shift change, we had to quit work and wait for the new guys to come on. So they could sit on their ass and not do anything. It still exists. This, along with crap management styles, has got to change in order for Companies to survive.

    Dragon's Tail

I'm going to ride down to North Carolina over Easter weekend - if the weather doesn't suck. Going by myself, but if someone wants to go with, they're more than welcome.
  22. Yup - works like charm. I'd rather ride in the dark, rain and fog than that cold shit we did on the way home.
  23. Just close you eyes and go faster - works every time!
