  1. I'm a big progressive rock geek although Deep Purple wasn't quite in that catagory. "Child In Time" will always be an amazing listen though. RIP
  2. I've always felt closer to the lower life forms than to humans, and this has been a constant theme throughout my life. We had one dog during our travels as I was going through my teen years, and I will never forget him. When my parents put him down I was not living with them but I knew he was getting sick. Sorry to hear about your friend. Get another one, once you're ready. A dog and a loving home always go together...
  3. I'm on Facebook just to see if anyone that I know has died or is in jail. Perhaps five minutes at the most and then I'm gone. It is an attention whores' wet dream and a great place to go if you want to waste time reading about how pathetic people are.
  4. 170 miles on the Warrior today. Went east on 172 to 30, then hit 7 south to Rt.40, afterwards took Rt.9 back towards Canton. Rt.9 was great but I took it slow for the most part. No rain at all but we need it. I had on a full-face helmet, racing jacket, and gloves with jeans. Boots as well. There were plenty of people in shorts on cruisers though. Not I...
  5. I'll be out all day, hopefully...
  6. Wild snakes can be picked up without any trouble, as long as you know what you're dealing with. The constrictors of North America can be pretty mellow but that can vary among individual snakes. Watersnakes are aggressive for the most part, as well as the racers. My first store-bought snake was a Ball Python, one of the most docile snakes that you can purchase. Perhaps the reason why so many people fear snakes is that during the early days of our species, we were exposed to so many dangerous ones in our original continent, Africa, and it would have been adaptive to avoid an encounter with the numerous deadly reptiles. Or we are just a bunch of pussies...
  7. Ohio has only three species of venomous snakes. Two rattlers and then the copperhead, which is a close relative of the cottonmouth, which is NOT found in Ohio. When inbred people see a snake in the water, it is always a cottonmouth, just because they like to keep it in the family and avoid actually reading any sort of literature on the subject. Non-venomous watersnakes have a saliva that contains an anti-coagulant that prevents the blood from clotting, so you may bleed a bit if you get bit. They also like to throw up their last meal when captured, which I have seen firsthand. I have also seen footage of watersnakes actually coming up to a person and taking fish from their hands. Cottonmouths tend to be very laid-back snakes for the most part and don't thrash about and strike often when caught. Youtube has plenty of footage of those magnificent animals and most of the time they do the usual gaping, which is how they got their name. The Bible is bullshit as well:)

    Deliverance

One of the greatest adaptations of all time. The novel is also brilliant and worth reading a few times.
  9. Copperheads are the least dangerous of the venomous snakes in Ohio, and as far as I know, deaths are very rare. Leave them alone and they will never be a problem unless you almost step on one. I almost stepped on a rattler once, and now when I am in the wilderness, I pay attention. The bite of a Copperhead is very painful, however. What people don't realize is the more you panic after you get bit, the quicker the poison goes through your system, with your heart-rate increasing and everything. Snakes are a very important part of the ecosystem and should be respected when they are encountered...
  10. If it's during the weekend, which I always have thanks to overtime being slashed, I can do this.
  11. Sometimes I just put a helmet on and go for a ride. Jeans, motorcycle boots, and a t-shirt. It feels great too. Most people that I see on cruisers don't even wear a helmet, just some shades and a cigarette. It should always be a choice.
  12. There is bacon all over the place and it's still Friday. I don't do more than 10 over the limit anymore due to a more relaxed attitude on two wheels but I did see a bike get impounded on my way back from Bike Night so somebody's not riding without paying The Man.

    5/20 Sunday

Yeah, I sold the CBR and got a really nice Yamaha Midnight Warrior, a nice power cruiser that does very well in the twisties, for being a heavier bike. The handling must be felt to be appreciated and being upright for once is also nice. I wish I had seen my wreck in its entire glory, including what I did wrong.
  14. A childhood buddy beat his girlfriend to death after an argument over a lost engagement ring around three years ago. Go out and cool off when things get heated, then come back and talk it out.
  15. Those random hard-ons were a pain back in the day. All of a sudden, you have steel and sometimes you have to talk the little guy down before you go about your business.
