  1. So many variables... if your mom plans to continue contributing to the 529, then that's good, but there's nothing stopping you from opening up another 529 in each of their names that you and the Mrs. contribute to. Your 529 contributions are good up to $2000/year off your Ohio state taxes. It all depends on how fiscally diligent you are to keep contributing to it, or just adding to it "as you can/want" -- that'll steer your path into different options. Or, you could always spend it on hookers and blow for you, because you can't make your children happy unless you're happy too. Something about Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs and sh*t.
  2. Whatever you decide, someone will think you're a horrible person for that decision. ...and maybe you are.
  3. Didn't stop. Still have them both, but nowadays they're getting trailered everywhere. One to the dragstrip, the other to MidOh - doesn't even have street fairings on it anymore.
  4. Why is "nothing but heavy breathing" not an option?
  5. So, you're a hypocrite with caveats?? Or it just happens *wink wink nudge nudge* that if we Venn diagram your personal rules, they overlap quite well with the established rule of law?
  6. The irony is rich here, took all of 8 minutes.
  7. Companies will continue to move offshore and do their inversions to whatever country is offering the best deal, but realize it's a race to the bottom where the only winners are the corporations. And no, I'm not saying "raise the minimum wage" -- I'm saying my tax dollars should not be subsidizing corporate profits. That's socialism. If that means Walmart or McDonalds needs to pay their full time workforce more to get off the gov't dole, then so be it. Currently, it's a redistribution of wealth, except to the already rich -- which apparently people seem to be way more OK with than someone much closer to their own income bracket. Because psychology. http://www.albany.edu/~gs149266/Solnick %26 Hemenway (1998) - Positional concerns.pdf
  8. I would propose that whatever the gov't is subsidizing in terms of people on the payroll that work "full-time" -- lets call "full time" 32 hours/week or more -- the corporation should reimburse the gov't for first and foremost, and THEN figure out whatever other tax abatements are due. It levels the playing field for all the companies that DO pay enough to full time employees not needing gov't assistance. My tax dollars shouldn't be used to pay for a private sector labor force so corporations can profit, which in WM's case, is around $6.2B per the link I cited.
  9. If you accept EBT / WIC, who do you think pays for that? It's self-validating if #2 is true.
  10. http://www.americansfortaxfairness.org/files/Walmart-tax-report-Final-Final.pdf And it's cite, not site. As in, the web addess for the site above starts with www, and I'm using it to cite a source of information. But yea, "friggin' myth" Same argument for McDonalds or any other large corp that using gov't subsidized labor.
  11. WM has the best business model 1) Get gov't (and us) to subsidize labor force 2) Accept EBT / WIC from labor force 3) Get reimbursed by gov't (us again!) for goods sold Perfect. Gov't pays for part of your labor, and whatever your labor makes is spent right back on goods you sell. Get the gov't to pay you twice. Taking advantage of every "legal" tax deduction is just gravy. Who's really taking gov't welfare there?
  12. If the parts are made in America, but they're made by YOU - are they still considered Asian knockoff parts?
  13. Both statements were independent. My first bike was a liter bike, just because you only knew me after the Hayabusa and the SV is not my problem -- that's on you old man Punk.
  14. My first group ride ever was with Uncle Punk. I also started out on a liter bike. Respect the anamoly and check your egos. I'm getting the sniffles with all this nostalgia.
  15. Why is Casper singling me out in the OP?
  16. My brother knows a gas station clerk who is friends with the aunt of the tour manager for AC/DC and I have it on good authority that you've been... Thunderstruck. GTFO here with that nonsense, assembling new cars at the dealership.
  17. Subscribed. I picked up a Cavalier for cheap and I want to turn it into a dump truck. I also bought a hammer at a garage sale and I want to turn it into a shovel. Advice wanted. Plz help.
  18. Found another one in this thread. They're everywhere I tell you. Apparently he evolves into OverModerater-asaur
  19. I've caught a BUNCH of these... not rare at all.
  20. Don't assume the wall is to keep people out. Maybe it's to keep Hillary in?
