  1. At about 11 am on a July 5th many moons ago...We had a drunk driver go the wrong way up the one way street, hitting cars and jumping out and running. He came to me asking to hide, so I put him in the garage and closed the door (no other exits). Oops, I didn't tell him it he couldn't open it from the inside. I flagged down the next officer to come by, and they wrapped him all up. Oh yeah, I had to tell them to ignore the nicely wrapped (inert) demolitions charges on the workbench. I was prepping for a class I was teaching, and damn sure didn't want the bomb squad messing around with my stuff. Nowadays, I'm sure I'd have a visit from the ATF and FBI.
  2. I have one Red Bud Ticket for Saturday that I can't use. First come, first served, pick up only in Columbus. I hate to see it go to waste. I will be working in Dayton on Friday. Thanks Rob aka SFDemo
  3. I had a good buddy in the Army, whom we racially profiled and called Chief Crazy Horse. He was one of my roommates and a fellow gun nut. I ended up buying his Mossberg 500 shotgun (which I still use today), but he had a really cool Charter Arms Ar-7. I've wanted one ever since, so I finally got a chance where timing, price and luck were together. I found one out the door, brand new with 2 magazines for $209. It's pretty cool and I can't wait to shoot it.
  4. Triple Nickel was in good shape with minimum gravel washed out of drives. The only real issue was the unexpected appearances of oversize loads of pipe that popped up a couple of times. The lead truck was only about 50 yards ahead of the pipe truck, so no notification. We HUGGED the inside.
  5. Rode down to Athens and then up the Triple Nickel to Zanesville on Saturday. I changed the oil and lubed the chain on Sunday and then rode to work on Monday, Ride your bike to work day. I thought it was nice, so I didn't wear my 'stich pants. I paid in the rain on the way home. I did discover that I have good coverage on the bike, only damp from knees down.
  6. I moved my GPS mount from the handlebars to over the gauge cluster, using a homemade Ram type mount. It really cleans it up and gives a much better view of everything. I also updated my footpegs from stamped steel to cast, machined aluminum. Much wider and more aggressive (too bad I'm not), plus rode about 200 miles. Not a bad weekend.
  7. I stopped in Joe's in February and got a quote on an immobilizer key and programming. Went back today and the key that was $52 is now $72, programming is now $90, was $45-70 (guestimate). Come on, people, there HAS to be something in the Triumph flat rate that says what it is to program a damn key. If you're too lazy to look it, don't expect to see my money. According to what I have been able to find out, even former Triumph dealers can plug in and do it (if they still have the tool) in less than 5 minutes.
  8. I just got my cable for tune ecu, but haven't messed with it yet (and may not). It runs good, why mess with a good thing?
  9. https://columbus.craigslist.org/mcy/5962519477.html Surely, somebody needs a Sportster Dirt Bike!
  10. Looks great, and matches the countertops nicely! That would make my old Mossberg 500 look great
  11. I need that one too Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I'm finally glad to see a real build instead of modifying new or newer bikes, plus love the change from traditional V Twin types. Esquire TV isn't Discovery, but I think it is getting better
  13. Great report and pics! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I can pick out the 25% in my office. BTW, the work output would NOT go down 25% if they did leave. It would just make my job 25% easier. One was whining already this morning, they're going to do away with IRS, there will be a recession, the housing market is going to take a dive bla bla bla. If you are such an outstanding and knowledgeable economist, why are you working as a clerk here? Take a chill pill, look at what our budgets have been the last 8 years, suck it up and actually do your job
