  1. I am not anti-comm. I am anti-not being alone in my helmet. On a big trip? Maybe. On a 300 mile cannonball run? Not interested. Besides, if I do make a poor decision and smack into the side of a truck, nobody wants to hear me die in their helmet. Except Jinu, but he has weird fetishes.

Nah.. just a little excitable. I think it was the matching helmets. You didn't miss it. You blatantly skipped it.

If you aren't willing to pass in corners on 250, then you just aren't going to get anywhere. The entire road is a corner. That said, all of my passes were well within the reasonable limits of illegal passing...if that even comes close to sounding sane. The last one was bad, but it wasn't terrible. I was more ashamed of scaring the drivers than I was afraid for my safety. I got excited and made a bad call. I corrected my behavior and went back to appropriately passing like an adult should. The only real OSM was on WV-7. We were getting down and I rounded a right hand bend that straightened just as a tractor/trailer was being escorted across the road to a parking area on the other side. I laid into the front brakes and the bike stopped right now. Traction control and ABS are legit as fuck. I am a believer as of that incident. The "Safety Pack" saved my Bologna.

    Chain Care

I carried Motorex cleaner and Motul paste in my bag for a while. That became tedious. Now I just use Maxima Chain Wax. I don't clean it so much anymore, as I found the Multistrada would eat chain and sprockets every 15k no matter what I did. I try to spray the chain when I get in from a day of riding. Seems to be working so far.
  7. My Schuberth has Sena built in, but I use it for navigation and tunes..and sparingly. I do not communicate with other riders via electronics. I find that to be a distraction. Everyone I ride with is going the same direction I am and usually at the same pace. If I need to talk to someone, it can wait until the next stop. Plus, I spend time working shit out in my helmet. Rides are literal therapy for me. Nobody needs to hear what I have to say.

I am always apprehensive about posting rides, but the last two have gone really well. I hope to see that trend continue and this forum start building momentum. To answer your mileage question... we just got down to the business of hauling ass. I passed more vehicles today than I probably have in one day around these parts...most of which happened leaned over in a corner. The Hyper is agile and fast, which lends itself to making space where space normally doesn't exist. I started to get greedy towards the end of my ride and, after a pass that I should have waited for, I decided to dial it back a click before I got into trouble. I knew I blew it as I started to roll on the throttle, but it was too late to change my mind and I gave it everything to slip back into my lane. It was a dumb mistake that I was fortunate enough to forgive myself for and carry on. I had zero expectations for today. I just wanted to get out and enjoy the opportunity to ride. I had not intended on moving as fast as we were, but everything felt right and you guys didn't seem to mind the pace. I got to know this bike pretty well on my WV trip with @Tpoppa and @Blitz. I am just running on the same mojo I found that weekend. I know all three of you can ride faster than I can. I appreciate you allowing me to take point and just route on the fly. I wish you had stayed with us, Nivin..but I understand why you were anxious. It was the first ride for me with @durk and I sure hope it wasn't the last. I had a great time with you guys and we should do it again before it gets too cold. Nice to know we can hit WV and back in a matter of hours. @Skinny guy, always a pleasure to hang out with you. I will catch you all another time.

Home. 320 miles. New tires are grippy. Quote of the day... "I view laws as suggestions, but you don't believe in laws at all." Nice riding with you guys. Nivin, you blew it. We were in Hundred by 10:30, zoomed across WV-7 and heading up OH-556 by noon... and we rested in Hundred for thirty minutes. I missed a collision by minutes on 151, just south of 212. I don't know what happened but a cruiser was under a SUV and the bike operator was on the ground wrapped in blankets. First responders were already on the scene and directing traffic around the carnage. I hope he is ok, but it did not look good.
  10. Gotta hand it to you, Jim. You got huge ball.
  11. I put a full-length mirror in the bathroom so I can see what a dripping wet sack of shit looks like naked. Been quite the motivator.
  12. I am into 32" waist, again. I could do with some crunches, though.
  13. Speed safe, friend. Catch you crazy kids another time
