  1. I may or may not have done it right in front of the sweeper... after very obviously trying to clutch one up and failing. So there was no fibbing my way out of that one. I can tell you I will not be buying a Z650. Not for any objective reason, but because I'm broke and they wouldn't let me wheelie it.
  2. I got yelled at for wheelieing a Z650 demo, so that was fun.
  3. In my experience, 2 person intercom on the 20S works fantastically. But add one more person, and the quality dips a LOT, and there's guaranteed popcorn interference. It gets worse with more people, and then out of the blue some people will get disconnected, put into a separate group chat, and MAYBE reconnected. Hopefully they fix that with the 30K unit, although I certainly won't be dropping that kind of dough for an upgrade I won't be able to take advantage of with everyone else still using the 20S. I've seen several places where people complain about Sena's customer service, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got pretty straightforward help after scuba diving with mine in a few rainstorms on Tonik's SE Ohio ride a while ago. I told them I got caught riding in the rain 4 hours from home, which had never been an issue plenty of times before, and this time my Sena gave up the ghost. They asked for some basic information, and I had an RMA number that day. Took a while to get the replacement, but at no cost to me. Sucks to see others not getting the same treatment. Sena has a great product (when it works) and a large market share, so I hope they stick with a product designed for riders by riders and not a company designed for money by sellouts.
  4. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to be day-tripping this one. Gonna keep an eye on this thread Saturday to see if I can bump into anyone and shoot the shit for a hhhwhile.
  5. Are the Emgo megaphones the STOOPID loud ones?
  6. Not entirely sure about the outlet gaskets, but the ones between the exhaust collector and the mufflers. Tried several different retailers that listed the part as "in stock" but nobody had it. When I looked on eBay, there was one gasket. I needed two. So I just left the originals.
  7. You're likely gonna have to make your own exhaust gaskets, I couldn't find any new ones anywhere. The final drive swap is/was a common mod, my friend did it to his V65. These bikes weren't made for chasing top speed, might as well get them torques off the line. I say keep the rectangular headlight. That and the stereo horns just scream "MID 80s HONDA!" and I love it. I enjoy seeing your updates, they remind me of working on mine. "Well, I fixed that, but now this, this, and this are wabbajacked."
  8. Man, seeing it with the panels and everything really make me miss mine. I just found some old pictures of it, I'll have to throw one up here when I get home. The early models were known for poor oil flow to the top end. There's a mod that adds oil lines off the filter to the jugs, right below the valve covers, but it sounds like that requires drilling into the engine. Not sure. My V65 had one installed by a previous owner, and the cams looked great on it. I think later models or maybe just the VFRs had hard oil lines added direct to the top end.
  9. Keep an eye on your starter solenoid as well. If you don't mind straying from stock options, el-cheapo shorty exhausts sound pretty decent and you shouldn't need to retune, since that exhaust collector pretty much does all the hard work. While you're fixing the fuel system, don't forget about the reserve tank under the seat.
  10. Pshhh, I don't mess with that stuff on the bike. I drop acid and smoke meth when I'm on two. Miss me with that weak shit.
  11. YOU CAN PROVE NOTHING. Michigan is objectively more gooder to ride in than NW Ohio, so I know a bunch of people from there, and I'm saying it's not every day I get to ride with a guy I know* from California, whereas you guys are more accessible. You're old hat Either way, I plan on being at AIM. *kinda.
  12. One of those weirdos who makes videos on their motorcycle (with 370,000 followers.) I mean, seriously, who does that? Nah, I've met the guy before, he's fun to hang out with, and I've heard stories of interesting shenanigans at his events. He used to live in MI, now lives in California, so I figured I'd go hang with a bunch of likeminded idiots since I have the opportunity.
  13. Planning on going down there, Suburban Delinquent is gonna be there having his own shindig, but if y'all are doing something too I might have to break away from being a leghumping fangirl and invite myself.
  14. IIRC, the tach pickup is in the rear bank coils. So if those are dead, that probably explains your tach being dead as well.
  15. VEEEEE FOOOOOUUUR POWAAAAH. My first bike was a 1986 VF700C. Owned an '85 VF1100S as well. Loved em, wish there were more V4 bikes out there. Currently both the VMAX and RSV4/Tuono are well out of budget. I would say absolutely check out the V4MB forums. It's a wealth of knowledge and typically has pretty good response times. Failing that, I've done a bit of work on these bikes myself. If you've got any questions, don't be afraid to shoot me a PM. Or just reply here, I hate when someone has a problem on a forum and it's resolved in PMs where I CAN'T SEE IT SO I CAN FIX THE SAME PROBLEM. But I digress: nice project! Good luck & have fun.
  16. A friend of mine calls his Connie the "ICBM: Inter-continental Ballistic Motorcycle" With a turbo she'll really be a couch rocket
  17. Suddenly I have a craving for Jello...
  18. I also have footage of you clipping a bird and it skittering across the road before Shorty hit it too, when we were almost to the BP in Wooster. I'm glad you were lead bike

If I'm riding, I'm recording. At least until my battery dies.

  22. You mean this turn? https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3RIrH_3TEsiamxDYjRIWGF4dmM (How do you embed a video?) Yes, we were going far faster than we should've been in that first downpour. But my PR4s with <1k miles felt great, I don't know what Derek was complaining about. All things considered, I had an absolute blast on this ride, it was great meeting y'all. Worked on removing those silly acorn nuts from the bottoms of my footpegs and, apparently, the bottom of my rear brake lever. I wish I could ride roads like that every day instead of the vast checkerboard of NW Ohio. As if it needs repeating... Toledo sucks. My boots are still wet.

    Hi!

Just rode with a bunch of guys from here in Southern/Southeastern Ohio yesterday. It rained. A lot. But I chewed on some chicken strips and ground my footpegs down a bit. Figured I ought to make an account and start lurking around here. I'm from the Toledo area and ride a 2007 Honda 919. Looking forward to making a fool of myself here!
