  1. Hi guys. I work at Eastwood in Parma. want to let people know if there interested we are having a cruise in for bikes on July 1st. Just a small event. But wanted to let all riders know and maybe come check out the store. I am working on convincing my boss that there is a market for local riders. They seem to forget there are more then just car guys around. The event is 8am-noon so maybe stop by before enjoying the day of riding. Cruise On In FPG Flyer_PARMA C.pdf
  2. tonik i see it says you have a vulcan voyager any insight on that bike? I am intrigued by the vulcan line. I know there are a lot of options.
  3. I went exotic cause harleys in general are overpriced and expensive. Its there cvo line everything else they have for test rides. I even took a livewire out last year boy was that fun.
  4. thanks killer kaw. and tonik. Ill keep an eye on vintage days. Harding cycle got back to me today about the nc700x they have. They said they dont have an issue about a test ride but want to know plan on payment. So may be worth a look. I wont run my credit just for a test though. Sad thing this is one thing that harley beats the metric world in. Almost all there dealers will let you come in and ride anything besides there exotic bikes. I dont mind if i have to go to a few different dealaers to try a few different bikes. I understand its not the same as a demo day where you can just hop on one after another. I just need to decide if i want to stay cruiser or change. I wish the progressive show was later in the year and they did some rides just like the auto show. Would be beneficial to all i think.
  5. yea my issue i ran into is i loved the Kawasaki but there's so few Kawasaki demo days around. and Tonik i feel the same way you do. I will not buy something if i cant ride it. Reading some older post people said iron pony allowed some rides. Does anyone know if they still do. I am willing to ride an hour out to try out at least a n700x. And yea both state 8 and roush are marked on Kawasaki sight as having demo bikes for test rides but they do not do that. I talked to state 8 and actually was told well come in and you can sit on one and see how it feels. I died laughing I dont plan on sitting on it in the garage. I love going for rides of 200 miles when i am off work. I loved the cruiser and own an older one but starting to think i want a bike more designed for longer rides. I am not getting younger.
  6. I am on the edge of staying cruiser or looking for adventure touring. I am in love with look and feel of the vulcan s. But also looking at the versys and n700x. My biggest thing is without trying a few i am truly not sure which way i want to go. I do a lot of day rides on my days off. I also take 2-3 trips a year for 4 days of riding with my best friend in northern Michigan.
  7. Not sure best place to put this so ill go with off topic. I am looking at getting a newer bike been kiciking it around a while. This will be my first time buying a bike at a dealer and no just cash sale off someone i know. Are there any dealers that let you do even just a parking lot test ride. The few places I have been are firm no test rides. How do you by a bike with out getting a little seat time. I am between two bike and they are two completly different classes of bikes. Not looking at sport bikes. I am endorsed been for 5 years now.
  8. Wow glad your family is ok. My wife just had hers totaled about a month back lady backed out of a driveway across the street from our house. I found that the big dealers where more a headache when we where looking for a car. Both my last cars I got from smaller dealers not ones that look like there a fly by night but an established dealer with only like 30 cars on the lot. Took us only a month to get the settlement back. This is also after they where going to fix the car till the shop said the rear quarter had to be replaced. Same boat as you. We just paid off the car last year and replaced its payment with my car then this happened. 11k car with our settlement and we are only paying 150 a month. Im a gm family. Impala for me Malibu for her both 3.6l.
  9. Hey guys sorry for any reply delays. A few days after this my wife's car was backed into. Insurance totaled it out been dealing with the car situation for a while. once i get that all squared away ill hit someone up and see whats i can work out.
  10. Well my mothers boyfriend is addicted to Menards so I know that drive well. Ill hit you with a message and work the details out thanks a lot.
  11. Had a set of tires mounted last season. Had a small vibration after the mounting. Was wondering if someone here can possibly check the balance. I have new bearings to throw in if needed but really didn't want to tear it down if its just a balance issues. This is on my Kawasaki 454. Also noticed the one fork looks to be leaking so going to need the forks rebuilt in the near future. IF some one has a good recommendation as to who may want to take this work on on an older bike let me know. Wanna get out and meet some other riders who wouldn't mind riding with an old cruiser bike. I am in the Parma area but ill ride it out anywhere within an hour.
  12. Thanks jschaf. Yea the price is one of the most attractive. Right now I can pickup a last year model new for 5k. Waiting for the weather to get nicer and take one for a test. I am not sure if i want to spring the extra for the abs model or not. I know its a newer model so I am leery. If its anything like the 454 I would be really happy. That bike really leans for what looks like a standard cruiser of the 80s. I rode a few hondas some yamahas and this my old kawasaki. I am really amazed at how well my old bike rotates compared to some of the other models even newer ones. I appreciate your input.
  13. yea i am very inseam challanged 29 inch. makes riding fun. plus with a weak knee torn lcl twice I have a lot to look into with the swing over. Stand and twist wrong out goes the knee. I have zero pivot in my left knee so I have learned how to get on and off certain bikes. Tried a sport bike once dang did that hurt. I know the vulcan s is running a ninja motor, and the ninja motor is similar to my 454s design. Doing all my own work and maintaince it would be nice to kinda know what i am getting into. Only thing i am not sure about is how Kawasaki went back to chain from previous belt designs.

    Vulcan s

For the last several years i have been riding and enjoying my older bikes. One being my 82 450 nighthawk and the other being my 87 Kawasaki 454. Two years ago i did a huge ride on the night hawk. 2/3rds of the lake michigan circle tour. we did roughly 1600 miles in 4 days. Last year I rode limited with the kawasaki as I just got it. did only rough 2000k miles for the season. Going forward and loving riding I have been debating on getting a newer bike. I am really liking the looks and comfort of the vulcan 650s. I was wondering if anyone has any experience or insight on this bike. I am shorter and comfortable riding for me is flat footing the ground. The nighthawk was a little tall for me but the 454 is great. I am just looking for a little more power and newer. I love classics and its kinda fun pulling into a bike night several 100 miles and getting the you did not ride that this far look. But in all honestly I am not getting any younger and wanna keep enjoying long rides. I have a lot of family that are harley guys but i cant bring myself to pay the prices even a used one runs compared to the japan bikes. I have rode a few Harley and to be honest that vibrations not bad in short but after a few 100 miles i get off and still feel like im shaking.
  15. Factory bars are back on it now. those where nice bars but until I get a single speedo tach combo I need the factory to clear the gauges.
