    Pitt Race

I just looked at evolve website for Pitt. It says at the top 1st time on track $99, 1st time with us $130.
  2. Sounds to me like some representatives got tickets from cameras and didn’t appreciate it much.
  3. Ever since Derek’s K&N failure I’ve run nothing but OEM.

    Gear garage sale

I purchased the back protector from Habi. He is a good guy. The item was as described and he even split the cost of shipping with me.
  5. I’m 41. The F4i was cheap to insure, the 600rr was a bump, 1000rr was a big bump. Therefore I dropped collision on it and I think I’m about even now. I insure the 1000rr and 2 sport quads for a little over $400 a year.
  6. Got a 60 mile loop in tonight. Forgot how fast the bike is, but thankfully it stops pretty fast as well. Bambi decided to take her 2 kids for jog in front of me while her 3rd child watched from the distance. Still had a blast and the new Scorpion cold weather gloves I got from the wife for Christmas are a nice addition to my riding gear. Can’t wait for some real warm spring days.
  7. Disconnected the battery tender and rolled it out of hiding in the garage. Hit the start button and it immediately came to life(music to my ears). I checked all the lights, unfolded the mirrors, aired the tires up. I did all this in hopes of getting out for a short ride after work tomorrow. As I rolled it back into its place in the garage I realized I need to renew my plates. I think I still can get that done and have time for a quick hour ride. Can’t wait
  8. Jefferson 44047 has it. About 35 minutes from you. 440-576-9461
  9. As Rodehard said no need. I replaced my F4I without one and never noticed any difference and doubt you will.
  10. I’m in for July 2nd as long as the weather is good. The wife is going to be out of time so no complaints if I’m not home.
  11. Wow, good deal. Thanks for the follow up.
  12. I got an extra $100 in my most recent paycheck due to tax breaks. Thanks Mr. Trump. ?
  13. Every time I read about what you’re going through with your daughter I don’t know what to say. I feel for you man. I have prayed for you and your family and will continue to do so. Having 13 and 15 year old daughters myself, I can’t even imagine what you’re going through.
  14. I rode with Jerry like 3-4 times. He was always so welcoming and kind. Great guy who will definitely be missed. I will be praying for his family and friends.
  15. My first Gap trip was on 600rr as well. I took 2 days to get down there on back roads and slabbed it home. That year I rode the Dragon twice and the Skyway only. I had a blast as well. This is true for me as well. I even struggle to sleep at night, but wake up ready to go. Had the same feeling last year when I took my daughter. Maybe even more excited because I got to share the experience with her.
  16. I second what Tim is saying here. I personally started my longer trips by increasing mileage, time, and intensity bit by bit. I started with a 5 hr round trip and quickly discovered I needed to do something about the brick I had for a seat on the CBR(padded bicycle shorts were the cure and continue to be). Then I started taking multiple 8 hr round trips to SEO and into WV. Once I set my sights on a trip to the Gap and mapped out at least a 10hr ride to get there, I put together a 10hr round trip that included rt555(I didn’t know of better roads at the time). Around that time I started lurking on this website and found better roads from posts and just kept riding more and more. Then to truly prepare myself, I rode 2 near 500 mile days back to back. The following year I made my solo trip and loved every second of it. I will admit this is probably a reflection of my personality. I’m a planner and a bit of a loaner. I personally have never done the OR thing at Deals, but I have participated in some Epic rides and other group rides. Every time I have participated in an OR ride it has been good times and I have met great people. @flashesbuck my guess is there will be a spring Epic ride again this year. My suggestion would be show up for that and use that as a basis for your decision.
  17. This pretty much sums up what I wear. I have a pair of padded bicycle shorts that are a must for the cbr seat. My socks just cover my calf, not to my knees. I tried wearing the leather suit I have for an all day trip once. It was not terrible, but not as comfortable as the textile coat and pants. The other benefit of my textile jacket is that it has 3 different layers- zip out liner, mesh interior jacket, and a zip on textile outer layer. With adjusting my base layer I have worn it in 40-90 degree weather.
  18. I’d say that it’s charging fine at 14.44. The fact that it didn’t change with throttle would not alarm me either since things can be different based on the setup of the charging system I’d guess. Hopefully one of the guys who know bikes better mechanically than I will chime in with an idea.
  19. I had a cbr929 I picked up as a project once. It had a charging issue. I replaced the stator because it was fried. Bike still would only charge like 12.5 volts, so I replaced the RR. Still only charged at 12.5. I decided screw it and took the bike out for a 150 mile ride and it started to charge near 14 volts as it should. I did a lot of searching and found some people were discovering the magnets in the flywheels were weak or not working at all. They ended up replacing the flywheel along with the stator and RR to completely cure their problem. I suspect that was the issue with the bike I sold. Guy I sold it to contacted me and said he was having issues after he bought it. I responded and told him what I had done and informed him to check to see what the bike was charging at. He never got back to me. If I were in your shoes I’d start by checking what the battery is charging at. At idle I’d think it should be around 13 volts at least then increase as you increase throttle.

  21. I could not agree with you more. I know if I was in your shoes and felt healthy enough to ride I’d be doing it.
