  1. I think the guy that was going to review that seat may have paid like $2000. Just think for another $2000 he could’ve had a bike and comfy seat. 🤷‍♂️

    2023 Epic trip

I was in 4th just coasting and was planning to just roll through, but she was much happier in 3rd feeling a heavier engine brake. I was good with it cause I was able to roll on pretty heavy with little to no complaints. We were with 2 other couples and the thing that freaked her out was when the guy following had a close call with a car. He came in hot to a right hander, and was either on the yellow or maybe even crossed. I was told to slow down at that point. I obeyed.
  3. Not currently. I’m looking to put the money towards another sport quad. I see another Concours in the future though. I realize now I sold the wrong bike last year. The CBR was getting too painful for the repaired ACL knee.
  4. Somebody told me they’d report back on a seat just like that. Did I miss that report?

    2023 Epic trip

We just did 675 miles in 2.5 days. Rode over to Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. She said she had a good time and she is definitely getting more comfortable. She doesn’t seem to mind me getting aggressive on uphill corners, but gets nervous on downhill stuff. I found if I downshifted and removed that free rolling feeling she seemed more comfortable. Thanks the information. That’s helpful.

@Tonik So how many miles/hrs do you and the wife put down in 1 day?
  7. It was and had 24k on the odometer. Some people thought that was high miles. 🤷‍♂️
  8. They’d have to change the seat on the new Wing in order for the wife to even think about that. She actually just had me install armrest for her on the current wing. She calls it her baby carriage because she falls asleep back there. Looks like an old fart owns it but she’s comfortable. We are actually on a motorcycle trip this weekend. I didn’t get yelled at too much for ripping through West Virginia 50. I called that a win.
  9. After 7yrs and 40,000 miles piled on I sold her for what I paid for her.

    Tire Mystery

Is the new seat closer to the older GL1800 plushness? My wife and I sat on a 2023 wing and she hated the seat. I don’t believe I can purchase a newer model unless I swapped out the seat.
  12. I’ve grown to like the highway pegs. With the wife on board we typically are just cruising around at 65ish on a 2 lane and corner pretty slow. Those highway pegs make me a little more laid back. I did adjust them up a bit today. Definitely gained some clearance. Hopefully no more touchdowns as long as they’re in the upright position. Even with her on board I typically flip them up for twisties.
  13. Could you wrap the wood grain in black? I’ve never wrapped anything but maybe worth a shot. Do those rotor covers come off? Could eliminate some more chrome pretty quick I’d think.
  14. Completed the tire change on the CBR. Once again no wheel weights and she runs smooth up to at least 120. Dunlap for sure has some mold release agent on the tire. I left the drive for my test run, with no lean I grabbed a bit of throttle and immediately torched the rear. I also set out to figure out what is trying to killer me when I lean the wing over hard. I discovered it. Should have been obvious since they are the objects farthest out. Stacked boards clear everything else with ease. @Tonik I know this is not exactly what you were doing at the lumberyard but you gave me an idea. Thanks.
  15. 292 miles, not bad for a 5 hour trip Even had time and energy to change the rear tire this evening
  16. Probably worth your money to get a machine to mount tires yourself no?
  17. half helmet is a must for me on anything over 70 degrees
  18. The vent was a must for me. I need air on my face. I was always uncomfortable last year. The vent has made a huge difference.
  19. Jealous. I’ve been too busy to break away for a full day. Hopefully soon. Have fun buddy. Keep the rubber side down.
  20. Is this a 2 person job? I’m thinking you need one person to lean it up in another person to be looking at what’s going to drag first. I’m not 100% on how you’re doing this.
  21. That sucks. There goes my thoughts of should’ve bought a Honda.
