I removed more paneling and the arm rest brackets Amanda said she would never use. Reinstalled the giant wind deflectors, which are hideous but very effective. Changed the oil and filter. Rode it to work yesterday.

Turned 27k on the ride home. Also rides like a dream at 85mph.

I’m assuming the wind deflectors allow you to get some air directed at you? I feel like I pretty much ride in dead air even with the windshield vent open. I need to find a way to get more air flowing, especially on my face.

  2. Looking for a warm place to ride during the last week of March. Planning to trailer then ride. I was thinking southern Georgia, northern Florida, or Alabama. Anybody know of any good riding in those areas? Or do you think I can stay farther north and be fine. Keep in mind it’s the wife and I both.

Haven't logged in here for a while. But got the ol' Connie out for rip today. After 12year and 80k miles still love this old girl.

I only had the Concours for a short time, but I miss it. I plan to own another. Great compromise between speed and comfort.

I'm getting older.  These new Wings are great, and they are significantly more sporty than the older Wings.  One of my daughters and I were riding it in the rain up to Coshocton for lunch on Tuesday.  Thank God it was dry on the way home, so we could try out sport mode.  Her quote: "this bike is going to be so much fun in the mountains.  I can't wait!".

I have found my long term replacement for the Connie.

Thanks for the mini review. I’m not sure if I want to get another Concours and have 2 bikes or just upgrade to the newer Wing. The older Wing doesn’t quite cut it for solo rides. It’s a bit heavy for me to feel comfortable pushing it.

Changed the front brake pads on the Triumph today, because the stock Brembo pads are notoriously squeaky when coming to a slow stop.

Changing the pads requires no tools.  Just push the springs with your finger and pull out the pins, then the pads slide right out of the back of the caliper...you don't even need to remove the caliper.

The job literally took 5 minutes👍

    Pretty slick.

That is slick. How do the pistons on the caliper collapse?

Try latex gloves under your riding gloves. Makes a huge difference. I think it's a wind chill thing.

That said, if you do decide to get gloves you will need a controller and will find you want the jacket liner because plugging in the gloves to the liner is a hell of a lot nicer than farting around running wires down the sleeves of your riding jacket.

I thought about latex gloves. Almost like wearing rain gear, stops the wind. You’re a thinker you are Tonik. 👍

@durk, I have two heated jacket liners and two controllers you can have. I believe they're TourMaster. If you're interested let me know and I'll take some pics.

Dude, you’re too kind. Thank you for the offer, but it was my hands that couldn’t handle the cold the other day. I have some pretty thick gloves, but they weren’t cutting it. My cut off is usually 50°. When I left on Friday morning it was 42°. I’ve ridden in the upper 40s and been fine. Someday I’ll get off my wallet and buy some heated gloves. Multiple hobbies/toys asking for my money nowadays.

Implemented some side-of-the-road repairs near Ripley, WV back on Aug 6th, then topped off the fuel tank and finished riding home in one-shot that evening. Once the replacement part arrived, I finally had time to install it this past weekend.  The new lever took a surprising amount of persuading to mount on the knurled pivot pin.

    Nice roadside repair.

I took a trip down 377 recently Ben and I think I have a pretty good idea of what caused your accident. There’s a dip in that corner that caused a harsh peg drag on the Goldwing. I never noticed it on any of the other bikes I’ve ripped through there. I’m guessing the guzzi ran out of clearance pretty fast. Going through the corner at speed I never saw a dip but the suspension on the Goldwing told me all about it.
Glad you’re still on two wheels.
