I’ll grid at the back and take a DQ so

as not to mess with anyone’s points, but there is no way that a grom clone will out perform a grom.

I figure i can get close to stock grom

performance after new tires, a better carb, and an exhaust, but the grom costs double for a reason.

I'm sorry, I still has your boots that you lent dude the other weekend...

Need to get those back to you sometime.

Yea it only says wiring is required in intermediate and advanced and that silicone is only allowed in novice. Doesn't say whether it's actually required in novice or not. I may just run to the store and grab some anyway.

Please RTV your oil drain, filter and fill cap.  I believe it's required, but regardless, it's cheap insurance knowing you hopefully won't dump oil all over the track and ruin not only your day, but everyone elses as well.

I got the new GoPro and stuff, but for the life of me I can’t get clean good videos rendered and uploaded :( your looks  Very nice and clean for the investment you have into it

Are you running hypersmooth stabilization?  Not sure which GoPro you have, but it's possible you are recording at too high resolution/FPS and they are shutting down hypersmooth stabilization.  Run 1080/60 and the camera stabilization is phenomenal.  This could be your issue.

I would send them an email with pic.  My zipper (see pic) was not as bad as yours, so hard for me to say.  They replaced my whole zipper and restitched.  I hope they can do the same with yours to make it work.  The even restitched the bottom of the pant leg that was chewed up.. not perfect but it will hold.  If you pm me your email, I will send you my email chain with them.

Last year, my dog chewed the bottom part of A* leather pants damaging the zipper, etc.  I contacted A* support with an email of the damage with pics.  I provided my address and they generated an RA and gave me shipping instructions.  It cost me $45 to repair and they did a great job.  They estimated 7 - 10 business days (not including shipping).  I don't remember the exact time it took but it was around what they said.

Thank you!  Do you think my boot is repairable? (Pic above)

  8. I bought Supertech R's this offseason because I was tired of replacing my boots every year (between Mini crashing and sole replacement).  I wanted a set that could be sent back to A* and have them repaired.

Well after 3 months of mini racing and big bike track days, because the outer zipper is on the outside of the boot, I've rubbed the zipper against the asphalt and it needs replaced.  I've also crashed a few too many times and there's some other damage I'd like to have them fix.

Has anyone does this before?  Do I just contact their support on their website for more info?   How much am I looking at spending (ballpark)?  How long should I expect to be without boots.  I've already purchased another set of boots to keep me going in the meantime.  Just curious what others experiences were.

    TIA.

Oh I understand the pic, what I don't understand is your lack of wanting to learn.

    18 hours ago, what said:

Ok professor, please enlighten me. What should I be learning from you?

Relax, this isn't meant to be a pissing contest.

    Andy,

You were 6 seconds off the pace from Farkas who rides almost an identical bike to you (1.11.8 vs 1.17.6).  Yes, you have a weight disadvantage, but there is lots of time to be made up in places.   Maybe his suggestions will help or maybe you have the best line, but I will admit the bike does look pointed in the wrong direction.  No sense in having a pissing contest to prove you being right or him being wrong.  Just take it with a grain of salt and see if it helps.  If it doesn't, congratulations.  None of us are going pro, so no sense in not just listening and trying to improve.

Prime example for me was seeing this photo
Image may contain: one or more people, motorcycle and outdoor

I realize I wasn't getting the bike turned even though I thought I had the best line.  Made some adjustments and cut a good amount of time off my laps from last year.

The community is small and we all need to support everyone in getting better.

  10. How new are the rims?  I'm assuming the rear is OEM, but the front was purchased when?  Was it new or was it a used one?  If used, what year?

    Edit (some more questions:

Looks like it still has the standard rear spring correct?

Any updates to the front springs or still OEM?

What main/pilot jets are in the carb?

Do you still have the OEM front?

Do I get a handicap for being 225 in full gear?   :)    I know that I could benefit from the practice on a closed course.

Dustin May is a 230lb guy who finished 2nd in stockmoto expert championship last year!   Weight is a disadvantage, but it certainly won't hold you back from competing, especially in novice.
