  1. I finally pulled the trigger and got the Givi 52 liter trekker top case with backrest. Should be here Thursday. I went with the 52 for my wife to lean back on and carry our stuff for a long days ride. Thanks for the input guys. Next will be either a slightly taller windscreen, or an adjustment bracket, or a laminar lip type attachment. Any recommendations? I'm 6 ft and the wind hits just about forehead level. When a drop my head a few inches it's much better.
  2. I'm really thinking a lot, probably to much regarding what top case to get. The oem Yamaha top box is the least expensive but has some complaints regarding the keys and the mounts not being very strong. Tabs have been known to break. Since the top box would also have a backrest added for my wife I want it to be secure enough for her to lean back safely. So I looked at the touratech zega pro top case system. It seems rugged enough but starts at 679.00 for box and mounting kit. Then theres the givi line which has the trekker line which doest seem half bad. Anybody have any input with any of these cases?
  3. Okay. So zip tie spokes for sure. Yamaha OEM top case is okay? I've read there not so good. Tabs can break. If you think there good maybe I will get it. It's cheaper than givi trekker that I was considering. So a ECU reflash. Any recommendations of how or where to get it done? Skid plate that doesn't interfere with lean angle performance is on the list as well. Thanks guys.
  4. thanks guys now it's just what accessories I get for it.
  5. 2012 Yamaha Super Tenere
  6. Wish I could make it but I work. I'm avail Sunday but I to fear the enforcement we may encounter.
  7. I'm with Tonik and Tpoppa on this one. Prefer Sunday but will ride sat if have to. Just hate wet roads, just can't run a fun pace. Looks like all roads will be wet all day.
  8. Sorry friend. Gota Lab near 9 and she's slowing down. I'll be in your shoes one day. They are truely one of the family. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. Uncle punk to. There goes the neighborhood. This might end up being an epic ride. Might be the best group we've had to date. See Tony, were glad your back.
  10. This ride is shaping up nice. Can't wait. See you in Otsego at 930.
  11. Otsego doesn't show on many maps. Like Tony said at 83 and 93 just south of Plainfield.
  12. Great ride guys. Thanks for showing and riding. Got home bout 715 with about 540 miles logged. My suspension tweaking before the ride didn't help. Rear felt stiff and not planted. Will go back to prior settings.
  13. So looks like we will stick to meet times at 800ish in Bolivar to leave by 815, Otsego 945ish, and McConnellsville 1100-1115. Cu guys tomorrow.
  14. If our ride wants to merge with theirs we just need to make the times I posted about 20 min earlier for the stops I mentioned. I'll check to see what you guys think.
  15. I'll be at Bolivar Dq at 800ish leaving at 815ish. Then to 83 and 93 in Otsego at 930 waiting til 1000ish for others to show. Then into McConnelsville arriving around 1100-1115 for others to show. We'll then decide rest of route together leaving no later than 1130.
  16. Riding at 80% of my ability that is. In other words a good spirited pace. With wet pavement I dial it back and don't enjoy as much
  17. Think I'm gonna bail guys. I love to ride and even like to ride in rain but if I can't ride at 80%(not with wet roads), then I just ride Sunday instead. Have fun guys.
