  1. We Panicking about Other people over panicking is also not going to solve any issues. Yes there will be slow down in every sector but as a nation and majority run by day to day work there is no way to afford shutting it down. When the choice is between get disease vs starve people would choose get the disease. The disease does not debilitate the Healthy young, they will if they have to go to work keep going no matter what since alternate option is starving to death. Disease is not going to affect the wealthy old, they will let things keep running. It’s all not going to be sunshine and green grass, it will sure have its impact. Just like anything is this world, this also has pros and cons. Effect lies on the spectrum of good to bad. There are no right answers, to this question of how to solve this, just answers that linker in grey zone. China was trying to keep it hush hush and not raise panic etc and go for containment and we are paying the price for that strategy.
  2. yes panic is bad, its bad whtr its small scale as in small fire in our own home or whtr national lvl pandemic is spreading. Common sense + great judgement + immediate controlled action + overall good IQ/EQ is the difference between saving the house or saving the mass of at risk population. Problem is overall its boils down to us being mere humans again. Humans are flawed. We make fun of chicken running around headless or deer jumping righ into the car when panicked not realizing we do the same in a different lvl. When looking at bigger picture and statistics, question is >> Is the over reaction justified, may be the simple answer is yes. No body wants their loved ones to be counted among the small numerator no matter how small the number is. As in 1/1000 or 1/100000 doesnt matter if that 1 is your parent or older sibling. just like lottery > the difference between who wins a lottery and who will never win a lottery no matter how very very minuscule the chance is that one guy bought it and another didnt. lets just hope this blows over just like most other scares we been seeing. More than likely it will, I would rather be happy people are over prepared than under prepared. All essential services will keep going, its not going to be a world war scenario, streets not going to be empty, people not going to starve and die, people who really have to work and whose work is essential will keep working until they are sick. A volatile thing like Stock market is not at all a judgement, viable marker or good measuring stick of humanities response to call for survival. It will bounce back in due course. Just like master card says , hand soap 1000$, toilet tissues 2000$ .. saving family from some fake, hyped up, simple flu ... priceless.
  3. When you have flu like thingy your nose sinuses close up right? Few squirts Of spray few sneezes and back to breathing better. now Imagine the same inflammation spreading all the way to the major and minute airways in the lungs and plugging up everything. And No way to clear it up and clean up and imagine how breathing is going to be.
  4. The disease per se is less understood, the epidemiology is evolving. No one knows for sure what’s happening and all are talking in terms of percentage numbers which are evolving. So far the only few information glimpses we got point towards, high R0 number ( very infective) and mortality high among fragile elderly. It may be true may not be true. The only thing we are asked to do is shake less, mingle less, wash hands and sacrifice few basketball games and such. And if your sick stay home or really really sick come to hospital and get tested. They haven’t asked us anything like permanent life changing or extraordinary like leave your home burn everything and run away. This might all be just hype and will blow away soon, very good if it’s so. I hate to think of the alternative scenario were it’s infact dangerous disease and we are not prepared or being cautious. WHO called it a pandemic and we are over here like WHO the fark is that. mans regarding Chinese data, if they were more transparent and forthcoming in the first place this could have been curbed way earlier.
  5. Yes the virus doesn’t seem that scary if you are young and healthy. but if you or your loved ones are weak, older, have comorbid diseases, immunocompromised this virus is deadly on them. Near 50% fatality for such folks. the virus spreads crazy fast, you will be okay, but you will carry this to someone who will die. Always look at this way, all the talk about quarantine and social isolation etc is not for just for you. but for others who might die because you carried it to them. panic and wrong information definitely is not the answer. Preparing for “walking dead” scenario is not the answer. Only thing to do is take proper and adequate precaution. This is to delay spread. Sooner or later everyone going to get it if this lingers around. Just don’t want it to happen all together by being stupid. humans are flawed and society cannot survive without interaction, hence it will eventually spread, it will be around for a while etc, but at least if the rate is slowed down the hospital And health care won’t be taxed to its limit. we don’t want a situation to arise where 50 sick ones show up together in a span of few days with only 20 ventilators available. no body wants their grandma’s plug pulled some of the main players are poor respiratory condition, things like smoking copd asthma obesity etc are known entity. Imagine how the US population looks like a tasty treat for this virus. but If anarchy and systemic cleansing is what we are after this is the perfect answer. Darwinian law of survival of the fit and strong and able. If this spreads like crazy the society will be forged in fire, all the old weak and wilting will be weeded away and only the young and strong survive to forge a new beginning. And all of this will happen despite how many toilet rolls we have in our storage.
  6. Ty @Dizzledan for the update, I was late to the party. Plus notoriously indecisive as always hehe. Very good deal for all those who scored 👍👍
  7. No WiFi in the outdoor shed he is sleeping in now. Hopefully in few days he will reply once he is let back into the house
  8. Congo Jacob, life and speed perspectives gonna change real soon
  9. Yea as timmy said, going back to school again. I actually completed 2 yrs of fellowship already in Michigan before i moved back to ohio. This can be sort of consider as super fellowship again. Your right Timmy, its life long. I am not even sure when enough is enough, started med school back in 1999 - since then in some form of way i been involved with studying and training till 2015. At this rate i be dead before i get to earn some from the knowledge i gained @durk and things were starting to get really good for us extreme east end folks. With you @Skinny guy plus two more great riders i met around this area thee was always a good mix of people to ride with, plus the tracks close by. Sure going to miss it. @snot @Helmutt i forgot to tell you guys, i am not that active in FB but one day saw pics of you guys ripping apart the cross fit thing. Now i realize why you guys not active here and not riding much, good for you guys. I felt inspired and went and joined a local gym lol Now when ever i am going through insomnia and not sleeping at 3 am i go straight there and have the gym all to myself haha . Yes i know i am at the pinnacle of stupid choices and unhealthy lifestyle after 16 yrs of medical education
  10. going to be a fellow again most likely for another year, so wont be able to afford big places and stuff. Likely small apartment close to university kinda deal . But in future if i ever settle down close to the smokies i promise to have enough space and place to host the OR gap trip from there
  11. There is a very distinct possibility I be moving by April may of next year 😑 if stuff line up as expected might be moving to Raleigh NC or it’s close suburbs as of now. Nothing set in stone yet. OR family will be what I miss most in Ohio, but life goes on I guess
  12. biggest strength and same time weakness of EV is the rapid pace of evolution. What used to be cutting edge 5 yrs ago is looking obsolete now. Just like all all electronic products thats almost hitting 90% depreciation and filling up dumpsters. But it will be a major hit to consumer to have such a high priced vehicle to undergo same depreciation and loss in value and hence less people buying into EVs. solution is sort of affordable renting/ leasing vehicles from manufactures and the vehicles going back to mfg for recycle and updates. regarding infrastructure again its going to become standardized sooner or later, then the pace of development will be exponential. like different adapters of mobile phone plugging into uniform outlet, EVs will have different adapters for uniform charging stations. 10 yrs is a good bet.
  13. haha perfect example. if the Aztec was a 500+hp beast people wouldnt be hating in it as much as it receives now. If this car was munching down corvettes and camaros of its generation despite looking like a big block of melting icecube, the opinion we carry about aztec and its looks would be different. haha nah, dont misunderstand the statement. I am not against the looks / for me first is performance / functional status/ bang for buck etc and looks i like is an added icing on the cake. Vstrom was considered ugly but still my all time favorite bike. the civic is considered immature and ricey by vast majority esp if driven by older owners, still my favorite.
  14. i love it, might get one in distant future. then again i am the odd one who loved the old versys and current nikken as well. I like functional out of ordinary designs. This truck even though people make fun of it looks etc, i bet will grow on you. Because "looks" are subjective, its a thought process triggered in each persons brain based on years of social conditioning from opinion facts, imagery that been accumulated over the years. And that "looks" " design" thing keep changing slowly over decades. imagine releasing the new corvette design in 1980, there would have been a riot. As of now we are trained to think a truck "SHOULD" look like one way and it should have this shape to be strong and macho. But as time goes by the opinion is going to change about this truck. The marketing team would ensure that by slowly releasing videos and facts tied up to this that will condition out brain. like this truck tug of war destroying the classic "macho big rig trucks" or this huge truck obliterating smaller sports cars in drag strips. and in couple of years, As soon as we see this in person, the thought that will be triggered will be massive power speed and performance. hopefully this forum and this thread is alive in 2025 for us to revisit and for me to post a smiley face to say "i told you so" regarding infrastructure, its going to change and change fast. This is evolution no one can stop it. EV is on the way up / Gas is on the way down. Having said that 10 years seems like a reasonable estimate to be honest for them to comparable, as in someone to go buy a Ev without even thinking twice about worry of being stranded, location for charging and distance etc. Right now and in near future, its still viable and reasonable as long as little bit of planning and patience is involved. disclaimer:I dont own EV / still love my gas guzzlers / not a fan boy of tesla/ just accepting the fact and proud of human evolution even though we gonna be extinct by our own progress/ regress/ and deeds in future.
  15. Please post up a sample email you guys been sending, wonder if I am typing too much or too little and informal
  16. I was referring to the overall active folks in here. There are about 10-15 active Old school peeps that put down miles regularly and hardly any new incoming.
  17. Yes motorcycling is dying for sure, just look at this place.
  18. This will very well be the Elusive one bike solution, I have a feeling duck and cow is gonna sit in the shed for longer duration next season.

    New Honda CBR

No way I am buying it new so no worries, hehe only reason I had my eye on it was because of the safety package it carries. Not many small bikes coming out with that these days except this and duke. And not yet committed to track only state at best I see is 4-5 track days a season that’s it. So no dedicated bike trailer warmer generator package yet
  20. Sexy bikes, will be some eye candy to look at while passing them on the side of the road unlike the Older classic HD models.

If priced right It’s gonna be a sweet bike for the streets. or even this if considering occasional track duty https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2019/11/05/2020-aprilia-rs-660-first-look-10-fast-facts/

    New Honda CBR

i have a feeling kawi bought in the SC on 1k cc > h2 sx to slowly infringe on the customer base of their own connie and FJR. Wonder what if they could squeeze in a SC into the 1300 cc engines and make a goldwing killer

    New Honda CBR

it will become standard feature pretty soon just like abs, right now they just saving some money plus treating it as a bling bling feature. By 2021 or so cruise will become standard for most street bikes, by then adaptive cruise and radar will be the bling bling. By 2020 bikes are going to hit the floor with radars and stuff.

    New Honda CBR

Exactly Vfr 1200x still sits . don’t get me wrong these are good machines but the times are golden in motorcycling world and simply good doesn’t cut any more, great bikes are available at same price. This is the first one where pound to pound Honda made something that matches or exceeds the competition. if pricing is right it’s gonna be a hit. the only place where Honda runs away with success is the gold wing area where they just don’t have any viable comparable competition I think.
