  1. Sounds like they dry-rotted. I'm inclined to believe them as the bike developed a bit of a whistle the last few times I had it running and throttle response was really sluggish. I remembered the bike being a lot snappier when I bought it but thought I was just looking back with rose-colored glasses, until I rode the SV a few days ago and the front came up a little when I got on the throttle hard. I know for a fact the Triumph used to pull harder than the SV but the front hasn't been light on that bike for a while now.
  2. "significant vacuum leak from throttle body boots." Maybe that's why the Triumph was running funky and didn't like to cold start. Looking at the service manual, replacing the boots doesn't seem terribly difficult. Unless of course someone on here knows otherwise?
  3. down 7lbs since the switch back to chickum & salad. lighter and faster track andy, coming this spring.
  4. You may still run into winter weather in SW Montana in early June, just fair warning. The Bitterroots are beautiful though.

He could be putting out videos like osama or 2-pac. Never know. Guy is a dipshit though.

    WTF?

per-capita you're probably right however in hard numbers the larger cities have most everywhere else beat hands down. Chicago certainly belongs high up on the list.
  7. I wish I could eat hummus and not turn the room I'm in into a cruel form of execution.

Putting this thread kinda back on track - this may be the squiddiest squidding I have ever seen in full gear: No "hurts" yet, but it's gonna.

    WTF?

At least in Chicago, it would seem.
  10. yeah yeah yeah I just want to be able to balance my throttle bodies and do other routine ecu-related maintenance myself. That and I think the triumph needs its adaptations reset. It's been running a little wonky since the temperature sensor went kaput.
  11. Does anyone have any recent experience with any of the tuning software out there? Considering picking something up to run on my old laptop for the track bike and was curious what the go-to is now days. People seem to like Tuneboy on the ducati/triumph forums and I am seriously considering taking the plunge but wanted to get others opinions/recommendations on here first since I trust you lot more than the other random people on the internet.
  12. You should buy it. It's exactly what you've been looking for in a road bike. The ergos are set up so I was comfortable when sitting on it at 6'6, you would feel like you were riding a lay-z-boy built for the twisties and wheelies.
  13. Not sure I could survive as a track only rider unless I lived next door to a track and could go out and ride on it every day for freesies.
  14. I actually really want to bring the SV down to the gap in the spring now... suspension felt sooooo nice on my little ride yesterday.
  15. Did some end-of year maintenance on the SV, took her for a little joyride then parked her in a new cozy home with the duc for the winter.
  16. I'd do 4 or 5 gap trips a year if I had the time off. I wonder how many times I could take unpaid weeks off work before my employer started to get angry. Time to start looking for property down there. Should be cheap following all the fires :\

Did you just assume that gun's lethality? How dare you.
  18. lol... tim, if the world keeps throwing you GIXXER 600s, you should probably just bend over and take it and live that GIXXER life. just think, with that titleless bike you could even join the local flock of squids during their nightly migrations and fit right in. you'd just have to stop by a BOSS store to pick up your new riding gear.
  19. damn you're going all-in eh? are you riding straight down to DG or are you taking the super scenic route with your extra days?
  20. "your iphone 6 only holds like 2 minutes of video, dude." got eeeeeeeeeeeeeeem
  21. Sadly I think I will wait. Got a bunch of expenses coming up this winter I need to save for. New car, new apartment, etc... :\ This card will future-proof a machine for the next 3 or so years though, so someone should definitely pick it up.
  22. Tempting... I think my cpu is the bottleneck for me right now though. Need to put together a new build some time next year, the current one is 5 years old except for the video card (980TI).
  23. You're going to break those mustangs in half if you keep adding power.
  24. Your parts finally arrive?
