  1. was shut down by DHS. keep an eye on new images from the mars rover, you may get a glimpse of the completed project.
  2. Yeah the owner died and the kids are fighting over who gets all the assets, including CRP. We are racing at G&J, Fremont, Adkins and Pittrace this season - mostly split between G&J and Fremont. Cant wait to try the new grom build out at Pitt on the long straight, hoping for 70 mph vs the 50mph XR100's lol.
  3. Ok, for CRP, it was $15 to go down there really any day Steve was available. Hell, if he liked you, you could just show up and leave the money on the table in the shop without him even being there. None of that matters now as CRP is shut down but it's a totally different thing. We have fairly lax tech for mini racing, drain plug, catch can and make sure your brakes/throttle work properly. I have not heard one person complain about these requirements because everyone knows that crashing sucks and these precautions are directly linked to everyone's safety. At big bike tracks I want more stringent bike tech for anything above novice, not less. Two years ago (I think?) Mark made it mandatory that anyone new to Mid Ohio HAS to start in novice, and you can run pretty much anything in novice... so the barrier for entry is still very low. If they decide track is fun and want to continue there should be enough motivation to do basic safety-wiring. It takes a drill and 10 minutes. I don't want to be out on a track going 170 mph with people who are too lazy to do basic preventative maintenance or make sure safety related tasks are not done. The issue with Mid-O is that the track surface is dangerous in anything but 100% perfect conditions, and they pretty much only do weekdays so you have to take time off of work on a gamble that the weather will cooperate for the day you schedule your PTO. Other tracks I've ridden, grip is fine on warm damp days, and dry temps down to 50 degrees - if you went out on a sunny 50 degree day at Mid-O you'd best have good insurance.
  4. what

    Ammo prices

I think I saw 9mm for 0.80/round in the latest ads. I think it was 0.22 when I last bought mine lol... Should have spent all money money on a house and ammo 3 years ago. RIP.
  5. Got the R1 all back together for 2021, just need to swap the new rear tire on and it's ready to go.
  6. R1 is apart to put in fork springs for a less fat person and toss on new clipons.
  7. are those carpet squares or loose stone pavers? hopefully not pavers 😬
  8. Just let me know 🤷‍♂️
  9. I likely won't be going back to Mid-O again unless I get a cheap cert and am peer pressured. Having to take a vacation day is bad enough but now it's more expensive than NCM or Pitt, no thanks. That said, this should be a fun season. 17-18 wheel horsepower super 125 grom is in the works for racing (baseline of 8 wheel), and have a couple new (to me) tracks on the list I plan to hit this year on the big bike along with all of the NCM days I plan to attend. Busy busy.
  10. Still have these if anyone wants. $275 takes them.
  11. 120/70/17 front 190/55/17 rear Date codes - 2018 Came on my R1 when I bought it - tires were brand new. Maybe 50 miles on them before I took them off to replace with Q4's for track. Tires have been stored indoors. Retail is around $400 for the pair.
  12. Must be a doppelganger out there 😮
  13. I'll be riding on Saturday just not on my bike. Training training training.
  14. Got the R1 out one last time this season at NCM over the weekend with @jacobhawkins and another buddy. Weather ended up decent. Most fun I've had on halloween since I was a kid. Surprise cameo by @Hoblick picking up a sweet new race machine.
  15. Eh I dunno, it seams like a liability to me. Can't always be exactly where you want to be on the track, especially during a race.
  16. yikes. seems like something they should take the grinder to if the difference in surface height is that drastic.
  17. Nelson Ledges, Pittrace, NCM, really any track in the area is better off than Mid Ohio right now sadly. The track surface is not in good shape there and I would call it dangerous unless the weather is perfect (70+ degrees and sunny). A couple of the bumps have gotten worse this season too which is unfortunate, since it was mainly a sealant issue before. Be careful if you're going this late in the season.
  18. Here's a fun comparison - 2 years ago vs last month
  19. 1/3rd of the active people are still active, 1/3 went track/mini racing and rarely ride street anymore, and the last 1/3rd just quit motorcycles. Oh and one is lost in the jungles of South America looking for El Dorito.
  20. We get whooped on by Eli every race weekend. He's teammates with Rossi Moor, who won the Ohvale GP over in Italy 2 weeks ago, and the MotoA Ohvale cup.
  21. heard you boys got whooped on by a 12 year old on a 250.
