  1. Sorry, I can't log on their website right now, but what exactly is this for?
  2. I'm going to be looking at a 4.0L 4x2 tomorrow, should I pass this up? I mean, a 4.0 without 4x4, wouldn't that kind of be defeating the point of having a 4.0?
  3. Yea mostly just bikes and landscape materials when needed. I'd prefer the 4 banger over anything else, but if they all get similar gas mileage then I don't see the point in it. I've never really believed in the whole "oh this truck is better than that truck" because obviously people are going to be biased based upon whether they're a fanboy of one company or the other. I personally like the look of the Ford Ranger and the Toyota as well, but I don't think there's much difference between the two. No heavy duty hauling is going to be involved, maybe just tugging a boat around every once in a while and putting it in the water. That's about the biggest thing I'd be pulling, or maybe even a tent trailer, but by that time I'd probably get a bigger truck. All I'm looking to get out of it is just a different style of car, to try them out and see if I really like them. No harm in that, and I'd rather stay on the conservative side with the smaller engines seeing as how this will be my daily commuter and most of the time I won't even have anything in the back. Single cab is fine, double is preferred for the 1 extra seat
  4. I'm just having a hard time finding the right year/model. I google for their problems and so many different people say so many different things. The biggest concern is obviously gas mileage, and then people say oh no engines in x year to y year are terrible because of z. Does gas mileage even change year-to-year? Or is it all bullshit and they all do the same.
  5. Thanks for all the replies. Looked at those trucks in cleveland as well. I think I would rather get a single cab, seeing as how the ext. cab only has 1 more seat, and they're pull down, and most probably uncomfortable seats. I guess whatever comes my way that I like and is a good price I'll look into. I'm particularly interested in these: http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2021236930.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1962879005.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/ctd/2020562320.html Anything wrong with these? I'm going to call the blue truck owner and find out if it's the 4wd version. I know the Edge is 3.0 liter.
  6. I'm reading online about these trucks and they all seem to say that it gets good gas mileage. How worse off would I actually be if I got the 4 cylinder 4x2? Worst case scenario I have to pack some bricks into the back, but there's no major hills around here. Didn't find any 4 cyl 4x4 Tacomas =[
  7. Thanks guys. If I do come across a nice deal on a Tacoma I will definitely look into it. The reason I'm wanting to get the 4x2 instead of the 4x4 is because the 4x4 only comes with a 3.0L V6 at least. I'm not entirely sure how much of a difference this will make on gas mileage, but we have a 4x4 Ford Escape and it does TERRIBLE! 15mpg at best! I'd like to get a 4x4 but because of these reasons, I have to avoid it pretty much. anyone feel like they could convince me otherwise? Edit: http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1962879005.html I really like this one, looks nice and is extended cab and is 5 speed 3.0L. Will have to ask if that's 4x4, but the only thing that's setting me off is the 170k miles. Would that still be considered high in truck terms or am I thinking in car terms?
  8. What makes the rangers suck? The tacoma is a really nice truck I do agree, but I can't find any in this area for less than $4000 so that kind of eliminates them.
  9. I'm 18 and am on a $4000 budget. I've looked at all sorts of trucks, but only Tacomas and Rangers are reasonable for me. Tacomas are a bit more expensive than the Rangers, so I'd prefer to stick with Rangers. The Tacoma is pushing the price limit just a bit. Can't get any new trucks, either, as they're all too expensive. This truck is going to be my every day vehicle except that it has a bed for something extra when needed. Just a bit sick of cars right now and wanted to try something else, so no serious trucking intentions. These are some of the ones I was interested in, what do you guys think? Hoping some of you can point me in the right direction within this style of truck, as in which ones to avoid because of x or which ones to get because of y. Also, how inconvenient is it to have a single cab compared to an ext. cab? I was going by if it was a manual it could be single cab and if it were an auto it'd have to be at least an ext. cab. Sticking with the I-4 engines, gas mileage is big. http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2015975811.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2008040551.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1947607186.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1948954978.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1956010694.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/ctd/1958747219.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1962879005.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/ctd/1963782264.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1972639756.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1989294494.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/1997995668.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2011600582.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2011975830.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2012353176.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2015328091.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/2021236930.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/ctd/2019557369.html http://columbus.craigslist.org/ctd/2021481519.html Edit: Recently discovered that the Ford Rangers 2003+ models have the I-4 143 HP engines as opposed to the 112 in earlier models.
  10. On my ninja 250, I have 3 nipples that come out of the rear of my gas tank, under the seat. http://faq.ninja250.org/images/d/d8/Routing.gif That is the diagram of it, but my bike has none of that. It didn't even have anything on the overflow, which caused fuel to leak all over my seat/fairing and ruined the seat/graphics. Am I supposed to do anything with these? I'm tired of having fuel running out (I hooked up a hose to the overflow now) onto the ground after I just filled up. Would it be bad if I just punched the hose? It's pouring money all over the floor. What do the other 2 nipples do? Would I be able to hook the overflow up to one of those to re-route it back into the tank?
  11. Ha, yea it's pretty bad out here. He does have insurance, but his rates will go up and he won't get jack all for the bike since it was liability only. He could file a police report, but the chances of anyone even turning the person in is slim to none. Who knows if she even knew that she hit him? Oh well, he was shaken up a bit but he's fine now. The bike runs OK, just looks like shit. I kinda felt guilty though, since I was riding with him like 10 minutes before and if I hadn't been then it wouldn't of happened. Sucks that it was the first day he had it running, too. Damn Ohioan drivers, haha
  12. I tried to tell him to do this, but he hasn't yet. Made me think maybe he was hiding something, but who knows. I trust him.
  13. His legs hurt like hell he said, but he managed to land on his feet but then tumbled a bit. Sucks how nobody helped him or asked if he was all right, or followed the asshole who hit him. It sucks because he had just got his bike fixed, and today was the first day riding it. Not even a full 12 hours and then bam, back down and having to fix it all over again.
  14. I hate taxis so much. Even in my car, they just stop in the middle of the street, no lights at all, and just sit there. They don't know how to drive, either. I mean, he could have at least pulled into the little side street which was completely empty, but no. Had to stop right in the middle of the fucking road.
  15. Shortly after parting ways, my buddy got hit by a silver car on his 02 Yamaha R6 after shortly exiting the intersection of E Powell and the 315. Lady didn't stop to check if he was all right, but rather drove off, and nobody else helped him out, either. He didn't get a plate # or know what kind of car it is all whilst running after his bike as it continued down the hill. He went straight through an intersection and apparently she had turned into him. His bike's fairings are all ruined and he needs a new engine case cover and new pipe. What could someone possibly do in a situation like this? His insurance is liability only, and he has no idea who the person was or what they were driving. Be safe!
  16. I'm South African. Couldn't see the video because it was taken down, but if it's one of those "Feel bad for us because we are poor" videos, it's all bullshit. They brought it upon themselves
  17. I couldn't make it. Completely forgot about it. Is there going to be one this Saturday?
  18. I'm about to do the HECC program with OSU to get a buckID. I'm cheap
  19. This sounds interesting. Where is it being held?
  20. I'm assuming I have to be over 21 to attend?
  21. Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm currently searching for tires, and I'll be sure to ask around this website for deals as well. I've got someone who can mount them for me. As for the brake, they don't necessarily "lock up", they're just stiff past a certain point and then free up again. They don't stick down, just hard to pull it past this one area and then it's fine. No big deal, just going to take a closer look at it.
  22. Thanks. I was just wondering about the shock in case it needed something simple like some oil or something. I don't think this generation of 250 can be adjusted or anything, which sucks. How much would it run me to clean out those brake lines? I'm thinking maybe, because it was dropped by previous owner, something may be bent and is getting stuck. I'll have to take a closer look. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on this bike as I bought it for $250 and spent less than $100 to get it running again. I want to make some sort of profit off it. I've noticed, as well, that the fairings don't line up with the body. I think I may have bent the gas tank when forcing compressed air through the overflow hole to unclog the petcock (was the only way, tried to run other stuff through it but impossible). Now the fairings are REALLY tough to get on and they're under a lot of strain. I don't know, but it's bad and it has cracked my left fairing completely in half. The tires, which I have no idea how old they are, probably need to be replaced as well. The tread is pretty low and they must be at least 7 years old. Where can I get some new cheap tires? I'm not crazy about tires and don't need the best of the best, but anything is better than slippery old tires, you know?
  23. My 1993 Kawasaki Ninja 250-F is having a problem with it's rear suspension now. It had been sitting for 7 years, not sure if has anything to do with it, but the suspensions sticks down. It doesn't spring back up like it's supposed to even when you try to pull it back up, it gets stuck down. What can I do to fix this? The front brake also has a weird sticking problem. When I pull, it engages normally but when pulling a bit further to a fast brake (not extremely fast) it hesitates and then i squeeze harder and it finally goes through but then it jams the front brake. There seems to be something making it not go through that one point and it's kind of in the sweet braking spot. What to do!?

    Casual Ride

Does anyone here go on casual rides? I have a ninja 250 and looking for someone to ride with. Not long distance, and not extreme speeds around tight corners (my tires are 15 years old and they slip out easily ). Just looking for a casual ride every so often to enjoy the scenery and the environment with a group of people. I'm in the Westerville area. Please let me know, riding by myself is extremely boring.
