Hi kids. Long time no see. Anyhow, need some help on an ATV title issue. Purchased a 2018 Polaris ATV from a private seller in Indy this past Feb. I'm in Ohio. He signed over the fourth line of the MCO, gave me a bill of sale, and I went on my way with the machine. Paid cash. I took the MCO to the Ohio title office, they handed it back, said its not a title (I agree) and told me that I need the title. I spoke with my seller, he is a stand up guy, and so I copied the MCO and sent him the original so he could get an actual title. Few weeks later, he calls me, says that he ran into the same thing with his IN title office. History of this ATV: Flooring distributor in Cinti purchased in brand new from a dealer in KY. Used it as part of a raffle/ give-away for their flooring clients. Guy that won it from the raffle didn't want it, so turned around and immediately flipped (under his flooring company name) it by selling it to the guy whom I bought it from. Both the raffle winner and my seller are located in Indy. So technically I'm the fourth owner, the fourth assignee on the back of the MCO, and the thing has never had a real title. The understanding of my seller and I is that the raffle winner should have titled the ATV, paid the taxes, and got a real title. Oh, and the kicker: The guy I bought it from took out a short term loan from a bank to purchase it. The bank never noted or pursued a title (huh??). My impression on this is that the raffle winner jumped title ( a felony in all 50 states), thus its his responsibility to claim it, pay taxes, and get a real title. My sellers mother in law is a paralegal and one of her attorneys sent a letter to the raffle winner but thus far has not received a response. Any ideas on how I can fix this? My seller is willing to buy it back, but I don't want to do that at this point as any replacement would be at least 6 weeks to come in if ordered from a dealer. I plan on keeping this for a long time (wife likes to trail ride and its considered "her" ATV). TIA Jeff

Went down once, very slowly, at CRP (underinflated front tire didn't want me to make a smooth corner run). "Damage" is just cosmetic, no rubbing.

Not to be a poopy pants (Letterkenny rules), but just a heads-up. I bought one of these brand new (first gen version) years ago. Kept it for two years, then put it on ebay. Vibrated so badly that it blurred my vision. Dealer couldn't fix it. Maybe ride it before you buy it. Damn on that price. I think I paid $6500 out the door. Was a blast to ride, though, and I wasn't nearly as adventurous as you are.

I want to thank all of you who helped out with this. Received some great advice here, and she's settled in Columbus. Good area at a very reasonable price. I haven't searched for an apartment in over 30 years (before internet), and thought it would be much easier now. Apparently its not. She and her mom put a lot of time into this and both said that your info was very helpful. Thanks again!

Hoping for $800-900/ month, but not sure where that puts us as far as safety, convenience, etc. But at least its a starting point.

We live in SW Ohio so aren't real familiar with the areas and dynamics of CMH. My daughter just graduated college, and is moving to Columbus. She will probably be working downtown, and is looking for a 2bedroom apartment or house to rent. Any advice appreciated. Thx Jeff

I'm right in there with ya, TPoppa. You pretty much tell my story. "The bike is in the garage. Its a nice summer evening, I really SHOULD go for a ride". But I don't. I've been out maybe five times this summer. I hate drivers, I hate traffic. Every other car coming toward me has a driver looking down at their phone. Etc etc. I'm just a bitter old man, I guess. Today, I'd be okay with clearing out the garage except for my TW200. Went to Wayne last Sunday with my son, and had a blast. Used to trail ride ATVs a couple of times a month. Fell out of it for a long time. Interests me again. Didn't see one person that day, on the trails, playing on their phone...

Doesn't really matter how heavy they are, nor how much power they have. Whomever rides it will still be incapable of doing the speed limit, and well revel in riding side by side with other HD riders and 10mph under the speed limit and holding up traffic on two lane roads. Its a Harley thing, you wouldn't understand.

I used the Tusk kit for about $159. For braking, uses a hydraulic switch which replaces the front brake master cylinder banjo bolt. One main connector to your battery runs all the other stuff they include. I didn't use the taillight assembly which came with the tusk kit, opting instead for a $10 version off of ebay. Horn, turn signals, wiring harness, etc all included. Didn't NEED to buy anything to supplement the kit. If you've got a battery on the bike, you can use the kit. I'm a front-brake user anyhow, so didn't worry about the rear brake activating the taillight BUT they will sell you a second hydraulic switch for the rear if you want it.
