  1. Sorry I missed it. (Spinning wrenches and trying to make it work with the right amount of parts.) Got it fixed so there is always next week!
  2. Strange but true. Did you say sammich? Yum sammich...
  3. I found out about the white lines the hard way as well. Used to be they painted them on the road so there was still some traction there now they are some kind of sticker. Slick even when dry. Glad she's got the nerve back. Sounds like she freaked herself out over it more than it deserved. A couple of deep breaths.... Ok, back at it. Nice that the bike is ok too!
  4. Still like that paint. Ya know I thought that was a harley at first glance and never looked twice at it. Somebody (BigBlueBird I think) pointed out it wasn't so I had to take a closer look and see. Sho, nuff', VStar. I am such a noob when it comes to the newer bikes. Can't tell one from the other.
  5. Mid 90's, not bad. Mine does about the same. A 550 but it's 30 yrs old so it takes its time going places. Even so it has two wheels and goes vroom!
  6. The key words are "No mention", still happened just not reported with blaring trumpets to prove "W" wrong and corrupt. "O" gets a pass on all these kinds of things from the press. The press at large clearly supports "O". CNN anchors are mostly former Clinton press secretaries such as Wolf Blitzer and the rest. No wonder they side with the Democrats. Not that this should be a surprise to anybody but it does make me wonder how much goes on that we never hear about due to media bias in general. This isn't new, been going on forever. Now we have the internet so it is easier to notice.
  7. Theres only two kinds of riders in the world. Them's that have crashed and them's thats going to crash. You have now joined the majority. Now that you have that out of the way you can get on with life. What did you learn from this? Oil dripping from cars makes intersections very slick in the rain. (It's worst in the center of the road, stay in the tire tracks from the cars) Easy on the brakes in the rain. Next time steer into the skid and keep the bike up. Gear is good. You are now an official biker. Glad your not hurt!
  8. Absolutely correct. There are reports from the Clinton era which say these things are a bad idea even what would happen. But they got votes and so they were passed. The Democrats drew up the legislation and the Republicans let them. Everybody is to blame since Reagan on both sides of the fence. Perhaps short sighted politicians should be outlawed, as if...
  9. Good seeing you too! Just when I got to thinking I had the oldest bike there somebody pulled up on a 70's era Honda CB-350 cafe'ed out. They even had "Historical" plates. Oh the shame... second oldest bike:confused:

  12. Wearing a helmet makes God's job of keeping you safe a lot easier. Give the guy a break he's really busy, help him out, wear a lid. Prayers for your friend.

  15. Looks like I'll be there for sure. Need parts. Damned headlight fell out, yep just dropped out on the ground. A small "tink" as the spot weld broke and a "clunk" as the headlight hit the ground. At least it happened in the daytime while parked. Amazing that I was standing right there when it happened... sigh Older bikes, newer parts
  16. Kinda like carving corners, don't worry about where you are, worry about where you are going to be! That was interesting. How everyone handled it was different but by then we had a basic hand signal thing going. I knew right away that there was some damn thing in the road. Long before I could see it. I had enough time to slow down, get the car behind me to slow down, make sure they really did slow down enough, plan for if they didn't slow down........ then I saw the bag of trash in the road. Not bad for a few guys on their first ride together. Not bad at all.
  17. Might stop by, depends on the rain
