  1. I recently upgraded the return springs in my LCP from stock 9# to 13#. Much better now.
  2. Earl Warren was a perfect example of a perceived conservative nominee who, as chief justice, was about as liberal as they come.... Former republican governor of California, appointed as Chief Justice by Eisenhower as a conservative who could appeal to the moderate liberals. After taking the bench, he became the champion of every liberal cause which came before the court. So much for party "tags" or labels.
  3. LAX Ammo.com has Winchester (white box) .380 FMJ 95 grain (500 rounds) for $130 plus $15.95 for UPS ground shipping. Same thing on Lucky Gunner or Bulk Ammo sells for about $209 plus shipping. I ordered 500 rounds at Christmas and another 500 a few minutes ago....
  4. The 9 mm Shield is an excellent choice for concealed carry. I picked mine up at Fin, Feather & Fur last January for $379 but they've had them on sale as low as $349 in November. Also, you can find some good prices on 9mm ammo at Luckygunner.com or bulkammo.com. Both sites ship out of Knoxville, TN. Whatever you decide upon, just make sure you practice, practice, and practice....
  5. I picked up two 7+1 mags for the LCP at Fin Feather & Fur, but they probably would have been a few bucks cheaper on-line.
  6. I carry my LCP almost every day. Alternative carry is my M&P Shield 9mm. Buy a couple of 7 shot mags for the LCP and it's much easier to hold onto than the 6 shot it comes with from factory. Like Cuz said, the LCP is great to carry. Front pants pocket in a pocket holster and also fits in my MC jacket pocket nicely. Also have OWB holsters for both. The Shield shoots a lot better but the LCP is much easier to conceal. Fin Feather & Fur always has the best prices on both. +1 on the Hogue pinned grip. Greatly improves handling.
  7. Pretty sure that's a fairly rare gun. If it's in good condition, value could be $400 or higher. Take good care of it !
  8. I should have checked the board before I went out today. Ended up in Mohican, Danville, Glenmont area. Safe journeys to all...
  9. RSVrdr was at the GAP when Larry the Cable Guy showed up a few years ago to film the TV segments. Maybe RSV will tell us what he was like to meet....
  10. We just came up 250 from Snowshoe area yesterday. 250 was okay from the south up to Hundred, but it was really a mess between Hundred and Cameron. Also, the phillipi covered bridge is closed for construction, so just take the "business 250" route around it. not a big deal, it just goes over the concrete bridge about 1/2 mile away.
  11. I've got a bunch of Givi keys from when I re-keyed the locks on my monokey cases a few years ago. What key/lock # do you need ? I'll see if I have an extra one. If you would prefer, send me a PM with the #
  12. Rt 33 is a great ride. We did it twice over memorial day weekend, down to and back from Harrisonburg. Hope to get down there again before the end of the riding season.
  13. Looks like a different model. I'd still check there since their prices are usually pretty good.
  14. Try Powersport 360 in Huron, OH. They show a new 2014 Vulcan for $11,999 (MSRP was $18,299). http://www.powersports360.com/new_vehicle_list.asp?Manufacturer=3&Category=1&CatDesc=Motorcycles I bought my Vstrom from them in 2012. They had the best prices on stroms back then also.
  15. AC, I'm heading south towards Marietta tomorrow, probably on Rt 60 or 83. I'll be on a red Vstrom with Givi cases. Will keep an eye out for you.
  16. How tall is he? That low model is designed for shorter riders. Has the prospective buyer sat on this thing or ridden it yet? I wouldn't buy a bike I couldn't at least sit on and check out leg comfort, etc. BTW, that lighthouse pic was taken about a mile from my house.....
  17. Wear Compression shorts or something similar. Definitely avoid cotton underwear. +1 on the spot tracker. I've carried one for past 4. Never had to use it, but nice to know its there. ( I use the tracking feature every ride.) If you can't borrow one, Pauly's advice about texting someone your location occasionally is a great idea. Otherwise, stay hydrated, and stop every few hours to stretch off the bike. On routes, 33 from Elkins to Harrisonburg is a blast. I was just on it Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy the ride.
  18. I was on 775 (southbound) just a few weeks ago. It was in good condition. Great road !
  19. I was riding near Jackson this afternoon and saw the ambulance and a state trooper rolling with light and sirens on. Was wondering if it was bike-related. Glad your okay.

Just wanted to thank Paul for getting the new Tourances mounted on my V-Strom this morning. The 70 mile ride to his place was a little "brisk" when I left home at 7:30 am (45 degrees). See you at the Gap in a few weeks.
  22. He may be referring to Rt 16 in Virginia.... between Tazwell and Marion. Another great ride.
  23. Will do. Between working too much OT and the lousy weather, I've only been able to get out a few times so far this year. Hopefully that will be corrected come April.
