  1. They did two tests in Hattiesburg, Mississippi per the article below. http://www.atomicarchive.com/Almanac/Testing.shtml Two nuclear detonations performed in a subterranean salt dome formation, as part of a 1960's Atomic Energy Commission Test. The first detonation, to form the cavity, code-named Salmon, took place in 1964 using a 5.3 kiloton bomb, placed at the bottom of a sealed 2,710-foot shaft. The second nuclear blast, a relatively small 0.38 kilotons yield shot code-named Sterling, was exploded within Salmon's 110-foot diameter cavity more than two years later. Hmmmm, maybe this explains Favre's season last year. He must have stumbled into the test site and found some body altering residue.
  2. I'm not insinuating anything, just that's what would make a baller video.
  3. bahhh...fucking amateurs. A reverse tailgate stoppie with all 4 wheels off the ground would get a thumbs up.
  4. It appears to be part of a "strategic" partnership with us. They started testing here in December of '62 and did the last of 24 tests in November of '91. I bet they were saying behind closed door. This will show those shits for leaving the Mother land and kicking our asses. We'll nuke there desert...tea and crumpets anyone?
  5. I found this on ST.net. The video shows all of the nuclear detonations from 1945 - 1998. It is long and starts out slow but very sobering. It gives a new perspective to how paranoid the US and Soviets were in the early 60's. It really shows how much we have beat the shit out of the rock we live on. http://blip.tv/file/1662914/
  6. Thanks Justin and the rest of the Cycle Search team!
  7. I believe Joe (MoJo). Jason(non member) and myself encountered these ladies. If they are the same, Joe awarded them a chem light for an unspeakable act. Great weekend of racing, sight seeing, meeting members I haven't met before and talking to ones that I know. BTW, your headlight is out.
  8. He is incredible. Hopefully he won't get burned out or pushed to hard.
  9. Holy shit! They can't help but not move until the last second because that car could go in any direction.
  10. RIP. Condolenses for your loss.
  11. I'll be heading up tomorrow around 3:30 if anyone needs a ride from Marysville/Columbus. If someone would be so kind to save a spot near the festivites, I'll be sleeping in my truck for the weekend. Thanks in advance.
  12. Loan through Triumph, only because it was a .9% interest loan. Cost me a whole $400 and change if I keep the loan for the whole 48 months. Making my last payment this week, 6 months ahead of schedule.
  13. If you are looking for a new ST I'd start looking now. Per the attached article the 2011 ST's will not be coming to the States and have been removed from the triumph line-up after the 2011 model. They have been replaced by the GT. Another manufacturer that has left the sport side of sport-touring in the dust. http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2010/06/2011-triumph-sprint-st-the-gt.html

  15. Looks like it is going to be a good weekend, weather wise. http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/sports/weekend/44903
  16. His leg getting caught on the bike didn't look to good either. The mentioned this at the beginning of the MotoGP race and watched the replay at 5 yesterday. The gave an update during the GP race and it didn't sound to bad IIRC.
  17. That is my only complaint about my bike. The '05. - '10 ST hardbags won't hold a helmet. The new one will from what I've read. The accessory top box is 54 litres and will hold 2 XXL helmets per Triumph literature.
  18. The bags are actually bigger than the current ST bags due to the relocation of the exhaust. I've never had issues with heat from under the seat and throught my seat. My heat issue comes from the midpipe to the under seat can. My calf can get pretty toasty if I get caught in stop and go traffic on a hot day. I would compare the new GT to FJR, build and set up to be more towards the touring end of sport touring where the ST is more towards the sport end. There was a lot of talk about a new engine to replace to 1050, but I guess that is a year or two away. Both the GT and the ST accept a top rack and case for more storage as well.
  19. That is the Sprint GT. They are still making the ST as well. The GT has better seating for a pillion and bigger hard bags.
  20. RIP. Always sad to lose a fellow rider but even more so when they are a member of this group .
  21. I haved an extra room at the Ramada on Fortune Circle in Indy that I can try to transfer to someone. I booked a room downtown after I booked the room at the Ramada. I think the Ramada rate is $80/night.
  22. Have a great trip and be safe!
