  1. Got the bolt out of the swingarm last night. Picked up a bolt extractor from Lowes on the way home. That and soaking in PB Blaster overnight seemed to do the trick. I found the weep hole in the swing arm and was able to hit the back side of the threads with PB Blaster. Waiting on replacement parts then will install with anti-seize

  3. I struggled to get a clean lap. With coaching and only being the 2nd time on the R1 this year I was happy with the results. Sloppy lap but about as good as it got for me this past weekend.

  5. Nope. I’m not big on walking. I prefer the slingshot maneuvers or possibly acme rockets. It’ll be a Saturday morning so seems fitting.

  6. This site just ain’t the same without the old leg Humpers we used to have. I miss those gameless, desperate dip shits.

  8. Just a thought.. you may want to take a thread chaser to the swingarm, just to be safe. If you do not have a thread chaser, then you can use a tap, but turn it by hand and only with some thin oil. Then blow out the threaded aluminum with compressed air.

  9. If you work on the things you drive in the state of Ohio, this is a must have in the garage.

  12. Guys I lost my keys to my bike so I tried to use a screwdriver and drill out the ignition then the owner came out and beat me up even after I told him it was my bike now. How do I start my bike next time without the owner coming out and beating me up? I can't go back to prison.

  15. Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. You'll have to forgive me...I've apparently gotten too old and grumpy to have a sense of humor. God help me--I've turned into Tonik! 😥

  16. What a great weekend. It was an absolute blast to have 2 great days to ride. Saturday morning was damp from overnight rain but was perfect the rest of the weekend.

  17. Agree. I've been riding street for 50+ years, since the mid-60s, and still enjoy the act of walking out to the garage and throwing a leg over the bike. No prep, no fuss, no hassle. Instant gratification! Admittedly, the dramatic uptick in poor driving--mostly associated with cell phones and distracted driving--has changed the rules and made it mandatory to maintain constant vigilance. I'm not convinced that even with many years of riding experience that I won't be taken out by someone else's stupidity or arrogance, but the thrill of riding is worth the danger. Disclaimer: I'm old. I'm single. My kids are grown. My house is paid off. No more than a handful of people would miss me if I died. My decision process would likely be different if I was younger and had 2-3 decades of wife and kids ahead of me. YMMV.

  18. Passions come and go, Nivin. Lots of members went full track, which is actually a very good thing. I respect the track-only mindset, but it isn't my mindset. I like riding on a race track, but I just like the simplicity of street riding so much more. Maybe one day that will change, but I think I am in this street bike thing for the long haul.
