  1. Grabbed a quick view of the beast today. This thing still amazes me everytime I ride it.

  2. 144,550,377,78,260,26 to Marietta. All roads were in surprisingly good shape, really clean. 260 is getting pretty rough.

  4. Nivin, I wasn’t complaining about or feeling like your mention was an afterthought. The comment was meant to be about the “few” when, for that post, you only mentioned me. I guess I should have highlighted the word. Humor is or can be difficult in text. I haven’t been to the gap. 20 years ago I used to live in Kingsport, fairly near there. But I wasn’t riding then. I’m sure some people at the Bristol rally will swing thru the gap. But we’ll likely be visiting fav spots near Kingsport.

  5. I'd like to go, but I will probably be too busy in June. I am going with wife and kids to the OBX. I will take the Connie and meet them there at the end of June. I may also ride out to the Badlands to meet my parents for a long weekend at the beginning of June, if I can make it work. I definitely want to go on another one of the OR Gap trips. My current work/family schedule is hectic.

  7. Yup. That was me. Guy was legit and a decent rider. I took him out and led him on a two hour loop into NKY before I let him ride out alone for his "walk-about" for a couple of days. I also sat at the computer with him and used Googlemap to review some of the roads I reco'd based on the general direction he wanted to wander. He road west along the river into IN, stopped for a beer and burger in Rising Sun, road some of the goat paths that run up and down the hills overlooking the river, crossed into KY either at the dam or at Madison, then spent the night at a little local mom-n-pop motel before heading back east. He even stopped and hit up a few yard sales in rural towns. He had a ball and it turned out fine and I still chat with him occasionally on FB. I would certainly do it again if I was comfortable with the rider's skills.
