  1. Thanks man. The hardest part of this trip to believe is we didnt get wet once. Got spit on a few times and had rain chase us but not once did I need my rain gear. Put it on once for 15 miles but it wasnt needed. Ran mesh jacket and gloves the entire trip.

  2. Kinda surreal today. Nowhere to go, nowhere to be. Just hanging out at the house. Sat down and figured up cost of the trip. I used my debit card 86 times . Grand total for hotels, food/drink, fuel, gifts, and a tire change: $2100

  5. got back from loring, maine a few weeks ago. a long trip, and i'm still gathering up the loose ends. ran my 1965 triumph bonneville on the 12,000 foot runway to a new record in the mile-- 130.946 mph, and in the mile and a half-- 134.287. so far as i know, it's now the fastest gasoline production-framed triumph in the world, beating australia (116) and bonneville (123). cams, pipes, jets, and weather all came together on the last day, and i beat the mile record three times and mile and a half record twice. managed 29 runs without going into the motor beyond the removing the clutch to change gearing. my neighbor in the pits lent me his gopro for what turned out to be the record run: fastest vehicle there was a late model corvette running 258 in the mile. my neighbor got 203 on his ZX14. took him three days to do it, because he had to find a way through a pavement transition that bounced his machine in the air at 90. i didn't even know there was a problem, because i took it at 40. going back at the end of the month, then it's time to work on the track bike.

  7. We went to Karl's Cuisine. It was pretty good. I would go there again. I went in support of my brother and cousin, so they could qualify for IB.

  11. It is a bitter sweet day. Just over 600 miles from the house. It has been one hell of an adventure, but you can only eat so many hotel waffles before you're ready to go home.

  12. 690 mile day with a 2 hour tire change stop. Long day, but it got us within distance to get home. Got some brisket and ribs for dinner tonight, along with some tasty beverages. Final day tomorrow

  13. This bike is now sold. Put 21,000 miles on it and got $6,000 for it. This was a fun thread to reread and it is the origins for "Black Tod"
