  1. Speaking of you're avitar....a while ago we were on a ride and if I remember correctly you was riding sweep.Every time I looked in my mirror to see if everyone was o.k. I immediately saw your high viz helmet. That day I decided to get a high viz helmet. I now ride in a Shoei high viz yellow helmet and a Aerostith R-3 with yellow viz accents.Thanks...sometimes you can make people safer and you don't even know you did it.

  2. I've been riding my FZ6 for almost 5 years now and I still love it. But I was thinking that I could get the wife to ride with more often with a bike that has better ergos for the passenger, so I was thinking of an FJR. I mentioned this to @JustinNck1 who promptly told me that he had seen a great deal on a 2016 in the FJR forums. I titled this as a unicorn because used 2016's are so rare and one for $8000 with a measley 31000 miles is beyond rare. I was worried that this larger bike wouldn't be as much fun in the twisties. But it's great. My neighbor and I ran 26 & 800 today and it was great. The bike is much heavier to maneuver in a parking lot but it handles wonderfully.

  3. I took a little 267 mile ride on the Shadow today. We started out in Woodsfield and headed West on SR 78. Stopped in Caldwell for some breakfast and continued out 78 to McConnellsvile. We continued on 78 just outside of McConnellsville to a left on SR 377. Be careful here, as the left is at the top of a blind hill. Took 377 all the way to the end at Sharpsburg on SR550. I must say, 377 was awesome. a few series of twisties and the rest was almost constant fast sweepers. From there we continued on 550 to Athens. 550 is newly paved from Sharpsburg almost to Athens. Then it was off to SR 56 all the way to Hocking Hills State Park area. Turned up 374 out to 664 (left) then back to 56 (left) then left again back across 374 to 664 (right) then to Logan. Gassed up in Logan and headed up 93 to New Lexington. From there we shot across Tunnel Hill road to 669, and followed that all the way back to Malta/McConnellsville again, then 78 back to Woodsfield. All in all a great ride. HHSP was packed with tourists of course, but most of the roads elsewhere were sparse traffic and great pavement.

  4. I'm having trouble letting go of my FZ1 unfortunately. The FJR just isnt as raw as the FJR. I rode a friends 2013 a few weeks back. My FZ1 has pretty much literally every performance mod you can do to it. I know you dont buy an FJR for crazy liter bike acceleration, but I wanna have my cake and eat it too lol. Chris - I'm aware of that 7600 fjr in TN etc. I refuse to buy 1 that's older than 2013. The FJR sure is comfy though and prob 80% as fast as my FZ1. I'd be giving up some performance for a much more comfortable ride that I could travel 8+ hours a day easily...just have 2 convince myself 2 pull the trigger!

  5. The "new" guy's name is Shoop. 😀 I've been on here for 4 almost 5 years. I'm just quiet, not shy, just quiet. Nivin, @NinjaDoc had an FJR - briefly. Tsk, tsk...

  7. B-mac is a beast. I couldn’t ride that big bike off road like that. I’d still be laying under it crying for my momma.

  10. Thanks Durk, Two were 0 speed tip overs. the last was low speed F/end wash out. My right side rib took a shot and i was coughing up yellow poo the next day but now it hurts just a little when I break wind.😀 It's nice to have help picking the beast up when the tires are higher than the seat and bars.
