  1. Date: July 2, 2018 Due to the popularity of the last OR track day, why not do it again in 2018? If you are on the fence about doing your first track day, this is the perfect opportunity to get a taste. There will be plenty of other members there with a vast amount of knowledge that will be happy to help/ provide guidance. I know a few of the members that joined us last year had a blast/ way more fun than they thought they would, and some of those same members may or may not be looking to get a bike to ride on the track. Dates haven't been posted yet and this thread will be update regularly. Since it's about to suck for the next few months, lets get some conversation started! For those of you that joined us last year, please provide feedback! Obviously Mid-Oho ultimately runs the day but if there is something that I can change/fix let me know. If you want more information: http://midohio.com/mid-ohio-courses/60-school/412-motorcycles Want to thank everyone that came out last year! A special thanks goes out to @J_Copeland for letting me ride that sexy Italian beast all day. Here are a few pictures that @DerekClouser and his fiance took last year.

  2. Ok guys, I've had a few people ask for this over the last day so why not. I will be updating as we accomplish things... So over the last few years I've been racing off and on between coaching and playing around. After taking a Hwt Twins championship and 7th in 600 superbike novice in 2017. I've decided to take my Racing a bit more serious. I know other than WERA and CCS it wont go anywhere, but its all about the fun for me. The second it becomes a chore or I'm not having fun it's time to stop. That said my buddy Joe and I decided that if we are going to do it... lets start fresh. I'll post here too but PLEASE check out Turn One Racing on FB it's my friends race shop where we are doing all the work. and he is my main "Sponsor" this upcoming year. So I present to you Rabbit's (Jason) Turn One Racing Yamaha R6 Racebike build.

  5. At least that's what it feels like. I've always had naked or nearly naked bikes but decided to pull the trigger on a Connie 14. I think it was a good decision. This whole wind protection thing is fucking awesome aside from a little trouble judging speed compared to a naked bike. This thing is super stable and smooth at speed and handles well enough to give 1/4" chicken strips the first time out on fresh rubber. All kinds of power doesn't hurt either. Took it over to the river Saturday and it's not my zrx but it's not bad at all in the twisties for a touring bike. 800 and 536 were plenty of fun. The linked brakes seem to be the biggest downfall for me (parking lots and such) but I have no doubt I'll get used to them eventually. Also having to do the 15k mile service including valve adjustment over the winter bites a bit. Planning two trips to Tennessee and a trip to Florida next year so it was time to find a more appropriate bike. Mostly just really excited about this thing and wanted to share.

  6. Uhhhnngg, ok I'm better now. Looking good so far, can't wait to see it finished so I can drink a brew with you and tell you how slow you are gonna look.

  7. Earlier would be good I think. More first timers in early means more opportunity to join in the fun at later dates.

  9. Great, I'm in, whenever the date is chosen. It was a blast last year! Hope Dad can make this one if he can keep from getting kicked by horses. His Street Triple RS is gonna be a hoot on the track. As Tim said, if you're new here or to the track, please come out and say hello, even if you stay in the paddock. Lot of experience on track on this board and we all want to get better and bring others along. I'm pretty much convinced my Daytona will be 90% track next season, can't wait to beat the hell out of it! Stolen photos from facebook of the OR day last year: featuring @DerekClouser @Blitz @Tonik @bandit @what @Jester_ (I think I saw you in there...) and maybe @kbrok?

  10. I'm slowly creeping down towards my goal weight(At 217, wanna be at 200). New job has me getting alot more steps in each day, plus the gym is directly on my path home from work, so it's easier to get myself to go.

  13. Was a great time last year, will be a great time again in 2018. As a side question - do people prefer doing this later in the season or would we like to aim early/mid season this time around?

  15. This will help with winter with no real build-related stuff on my calendar for this year. Maybe new fairings for the CBR but that's it.

  21. I have loads of room for trucks and trailers here at the house - better off trailering out. Crossing Kansas /Eastern Colorado sucks all sorts of balls. The house is right in the middle fo the good riding areas = great place to start and end your rides.

  22. Just got my new computer monitor today. Wow what a difference. Went from a 32" 720p RCA TV to a LG 34" 21:9 gaming monitor at 2560x1080. So much real estate.

  25. A high school friend took his family in a Tesla across the country this summer. It took a lot of planning but he worked it out and even visited some kind of remote scenic destinations. They had a great time. Flying airplanes is similar - lots of weather and fuel planning. Electric motorcycles would be the same. I can’t remember if I’ve said it but I’ll own one someday. My key use case would be to own wooded property not far from town, and use an electric dirt bike to keep the noise down while tearing up my trails.

  28. Has nothing to do with this. This bike doesn't even come in till Aug. The quad is for sale because it has a plow and this is a great time to sell it. And mostly because in over a years time I've rode it twice. Maybe 3 times. No sense in keeping it sitting around in my way. With all the travel with Gavin and work and family I just don't have time to load it up and hit the trails like I used to
