  2. I picked up a new to me 08 kawasaki concours c14 abs last week. I had a shoulder injury at work that has kept me off of my supermoto and ZX10-R but I've been itching to ride. So I used that as an excuse to pick up a touring bike. I've wanted one of these for years and finally pulled the trigger. I haven't really had it out on any real curves yet but it feels really planted and smooth in the handling department. The power delivery is very smooth which makes it hard to judge speed. When accelerating it feels like in doing 80 then I look down and I'm pushing 115. I plan on throwing a turbo on it down the road and running 8psi. Hoping for around 200hp when it's done. But it's going to take me a while to source the parts for a custom turbo build and put it together. I'm going to take it out today without the top bag and hit some curves to see how sporty of a tourer it actually is.

  3. Welcome! Glad to hear about the gear. If you haven't already, take the MSF course. My kids will both have mopeds as soon as they turn 14 and street bikes at 16 so no judgement here. Although I doubt I will let them ride without me for a long while. Stay safe.

  8. Going to keep stock compression. The kits will bolt right up but require some cutting off the fairings and will hang out the side. I want a relatively stock look. I'm going to get a zx14 flange and have a custom header built. I have a friend who had a turbo on his for a long time that's going to guide me through the process. I'm basically going to copy his set up with a few improvements. Before I bought the bike we priced everything out that I'll need and building the kit myself will save me about $2,000 over the reputable zx14 kits. Going to keep it at 8psi with a good fuel system to make good safe power.

  9. My daughter just got her moped temps this past Saturday. She has rode dirt most of her life, but I was still very nervous when she pulled away for her first solo ride. We put on about 40 miles between Saturday and this morning... I was like a nervous nelly as she rode away for band practice this morning.

  10. Edit: you're right, the tach runs off yellow wire for coil, fuel cut relay runs off blue coil wire.

  16. IIRC, the tach pickup is in the rear bank coils. So if those are dead, that probably explains your tach being dead as well.

  23. Got it home and began diagnostic process. Brand new fuel pump wasn't running. Chased down to fuel cut relay. Tested wires going in, got voltage. Jumped hot wire to outgoing and boom, pump runs. Let carb bowls fill, thumbed starter. Bike immediately barks to life. Check pipes, bike is only running on front bank. Check impedance on rear bank coil, get nothing. So there you have it. Small coolant leak from where rubber hose goes on nipple, easy shit. Few drops of gas from carb overflow. Tach not working, need to chase down wires. Box connector for stator is half melted along with connector for headlight. Fuse box looks to contain fuses rated higher than called for, plan on replacing rectifier/voltage regulator and cooked wiring. Fork seals are blown out, lots of cosmetic fuckery afoot but for a buck fiddy I did good.

  24. Picked up my mountain bike on thursday and hit the trails on friday. I did the yellow trail that leads into the red trail with the out and back at Royalview. Something like 7.5 miles and i was dead at the end. That is a completely different animal than road riding. Only mtn biking i did before was in Utah when you ride the chairlift up. But it was a lot of fun, can't wait to get out again.

  26. Where are you on this party thing? Katie and I bought a new house recently. 2 acres, two garages, big driveway, fire pit, chill neighbors. 10 minutes from convention center. If you were planning on trashing some other venue, all good, just throwing our place out there.

  27. Not really. Instead of your crappy after-party I will be hanging with my good friend Busta Rhymes.
