  1. You know what they say...no news is good news. Happy to report that no one died during this exchange, and there won't be an international incident between the US and Czeck as a result of financial loss or liability. Jan and I had a great (short, <100 mi) ride into NKY yesterday morning with a riding bud of mine on some of the goat paths I'm known for. I had an afternoon of pit bike racing planned so Jan headed off on a rambling path along the OH river that we had discussed, spent the night in some appropriately seedy motel along the river, dropped the bike off this morning with an additional 280 mi of wandering on the odo and is headed back to C-bus for his last day of training as you read this. I was waiting to post up the pics from yesterday's ride until he posted about his adventures plunking around the small towns of IN and KY. I'm sure he'll chime in soon. All is well, my friends.

  2. Hey guys...I had so good time...all thanks to you and Bubba and his will to share. Here are some pictures from my retreat. Sorry for capturing what you are used to but it is all new to me and always wanted to eat burger in completely regular american road place, sleep in road motel and "wander around" on bike..meet country and people...basically all what I was seeing as a child from Russian and communists controlled Czechoslovakia on not very tolerated American movies. Almost all was touched on my short trip thanks to you and Bubba...and I am just laughing out on his funny posts unable to write similar way as I feel so grateful....thank you old man and sorry for that lost rain cover...and the last picture I took and you said you would kill me if I post it...so I posted it as you are all perfect and don't have to worry https://goo.gl/photos/LoePP2DDBUmW6eVR9

  3. Ok, based on the sheer number of conspiracy theorists on the site, I figgered I'd post up pics just to confirm that Jan had not, in fact, hijacked my identity, locked me in the basement root cellar, and was currently in the Antilles living off my life savings...as if $372 was gonna get him anywhere. Here's pics, and Jan should be posting his when he gets some free time to connect with wifi. Rabbit Hash General store...just because we had to...way too early in the day for the influx of pirates! The old barn in RH...wanted a pic in front of the new general store but there was a damn delivery truck blocking the view! Anderson Ferry crossing the OH river, with Jan and riding buddy Bryn from SA

  4. No it's not. It makes perfect sense. @NinjaDoc is thanking him for buying all kinds of bikes and changing it up. In some small way it makes Nivan more comfortable with his own motorcycle ADD.

  5. Jan: ...and now, I will have to come to Czeck and hunt you down! So glad we met and you were able to ride around the countryside. Something about motorcycles that make it easy to meet new friends and have a great time. Safe trip home, my friend!!! Great pictures...they capture the spirit of your adventure!

  10. I needed to make sure I still have at least 2,500 miles left on the VFR's tires for the Gap trip. So I made a responsible decision and bought another motorcycle I been wanting another bike for around town. I needed good cornering clearance, comfortable ergos, and something really different from my VFR12. I considered so may bikes and wound up picking up a barely used 2014 CB500X with some nice addons. It seems pretty fun so far. It's effortless to ride. I think I could actually tour on it.

  12. The chat box had a few questions as I was posting, so I'll start a thread in here. My first child was born 12.57am on the 27th. After a very long and painful labor. He got stuck on the way out, issues with the cord and they swept my wife away to the OR after 4 unsuccessful pushes. Baby heart rate drop, scary low. Guys, it's amazing what they can do here. In just 9 of the most terrifing mins , they had my wife over to the OR, strapped down to a different bed and drugged up and the baby was out and they were "working" on him. Cut-to-birth was under minute, as the Dr puts it. I was able to hold him for a few seconds right after he was out, but quickly ran him down to NICU, to stabliz him. Cofer is now doing well, but is still in NICU. He should be released in less than a week. He bounced back quickly with fluids.

  14. Got the paint finished up on the 1200. Took an extra day because it seems every time you pick up a spray gun something will go wrong. Ended up with a pretty nice pearl white. Went on pretty smooth just needs a touch of cut and buff. Tried to get a pic but pearl doesn't phot very well.

  16. On the Nomad you could pop the seal out and take a bit of the spring out and it would vent faster and get rid if the whine. I never did it, prefered to troll the Harley tards at gas stops. If you decide to take it apart tape the tank opening up so you dont drop the seal, ball and spring into the tank. But I dont think anything is broke here.

  17. No it's not. Its a Kaw. Its a negative pressure vent. It sucks air in when the tank cools so it doesn't implode the tank. My Voyager has the same set up. So did my Nomad. The Nomad made this really cool whining noise when it let air in. Happened shortly after you shut it down. I would tell all the Harley tards it was my turbo winding down. It also not the source of his gas smell.

  18. I just took it on a shakedown ride through a few local twisties. It corners better than I expected. Steering is pretty quick. I'd guess it has enough capability to hang with a med/fast group. I'll have to bring it on a group ride. According to a video I saw the speedo will touch 110, but it takes a while to get there.

  20. no but dirt can get in and clog, kinked hose down in the works... blow it with compressed air or a straw to see if it flows through. Do the water drain hose too.

  21. Yea the 91 shadow 1100 was my first bike. Was a gift from my mother in law lol. But was a great bike, and put lots of miles on it. Did some resto work to it as well. Trying to get rid of all the corrosion and polish it back up.

  28. So what is your new toy? I'll probably be looking for a new bicycle soon, once I get the settlement check from the insurance. I have not bought the quantity of bicycles you have recently but each one seems to be progressively more expensive.

  32. Congrats! We had two kids, one natural birth and the second scheduled cesarean b/c the cord was wrapped around the kid's leg. The Dr. tried to turn the baby weeks before the birth but couldn't with the way things were tangled inside. It's hard to imagine not having such good care like today. Each pregnancy was different. Glad things worked out.

  36. Ok pervs new update. Hopefully they all get to agreeing on his treatment plan soon so he can go home today. There is a chance he may not get to till tomorrow, Xrays are all done just waiting for them to tell us what I already know since I talked to one of my radiologist that I work with daily.... Tim should be good without surgery but we also found out that the bottom lobes of both lungs are partially collapsed so he needs to take in some deep breaths to help fill them back up and to keep him from getting pneumonia.... But have no fear I will make sure he is safely exercised and taking deep breaths so he gets back to his old self in no time *Rebecca
