  1. Chris: I'll offer a counter-position about full-suspension bikes. As you rightly point out, unless you're gonna drop $3K on a well-built free ride bike, a "cheap" one isn't gonna fill the bill. However, unless you plan on doing DH extensively, there's no reason a good rigid frame hardtail can't run any trail as well as or better than a full suspension rig. F&R suspension is mostly useful for high-speed descents and jumps/ramps/drops. It'll also keep your body from feeling quite as beat up after a day's ride, but if you're not an old guy and in pretty good shape, a hardtail will keep you entertained in the woods for a long time at much lower cost. Might even be able to find a 29'r at a reasonable price, and they ride much more smoothly than a 26".

  2. There was black smoke ahead as I was driving round the outerbelt the other week. The Budweiser factory was having a team building side by side driving and one was engulfed in the parking lot.

  3. Nice looking bike! This is the misses ride, Trek Superfly 6. She's 5 feet tall, so her bike is also small. It's funny to load them on the trailer to go ride...

  5. Quick update: Physio is going well. Good days and bad days. My knee is feeling better but I still don't have the strength. My PT says that riding at the beginning of next season should be no problems assuming no major setbacks. Currently rocking a handicap placard for parking due to being unable to walk for more than couple hundred feet without causing calf pain for the rest of the day. This is slowly getting better as I build that muscle back up. Looking forward to 2017.

  6. EBR history scares me more than their bikes. Who knows who will be investing in the company, it changes so frequently. They have been through some ups and downs for sure.

  8. No comment. I would probably violate the code of conduct of this establishment.

  9. On the way... Power Commander is in, Ignition module is close, block off plates are on their way along with the air filter. Dad cleared out a spot in one of his cabinets for the bodywork during the build. I couldn't believe how light the bodywork is. I don't know what was on my CBR but it seems so much heavier then this. The primer looks good, should be easy to prep for paint.

  11. Mohican is fun too! Was gonna go there Friday, but figure I would get in a good trip before winter. Trek is great! Super fast and nimble. I often regret going hardtail until I am on the trails with it. May get a more trail orientated geometery with full susp bike next, but this thing is so fast and responsive may just rock a hardtail for a good while.
