  1. I haven't been active on here, but just checking on my riders back home occasionally as I do my thing in the Navy. I really wish I hadn't found this thread, because I'm honestly hurt and my stomach sickened. IP, jbot, and others, I'm thankful you're hear to articulate thoughts of reason so well. I love to hear how much of a piece of shit I am due to serving in the military, when I've spent the last 2.5 years training to save other people's lives. In a few months, nearing 3 years of training, I'll finally accomplish my goal of becoming a Navy special amphibious reconnaissance corpsman. I bet it was a challenge to sit on your ass watching the Discovery channel's "Surviving the Cut" episodes of Marine Recon, and combat diver training while I was living it. You fat fucking dependapotamus. Asking why this guy was special? wtf? "huh, whats so special about the published Navy SEAL whose death made national headlines?" Kyle was a chief petty officer (higher enlisted), SEAL (small community), sniper (even smaller community). A group of bikers, friends, etc doesn't have shit on the brotherhood that exists in these communities. If the military is one big extended family, then the special operations communities are the analogical equivalent of immediate family, and chiefs our fathers. So put it simply, yes, its very fucking personal. Anyone else have problems? Send them my way with your name and phone, I'll be sure to forward it to the SEAL medics I work with every day. I probably shouldn't even post this, but I needed to vent... and its already typed out so fuck it. Sorry for reviving an old thread.

  2. or those who dont like it can just stay out of those specific forums? Weird, its like we're only allowed to like motorcycles

  3. i feel like i NEED to post this enlightenment of recent happenings. most of us should know this, those who dont, will learn. most of us SHOULD use this, when a lot dont. pace: a : rate of movement; especially : an established rate of locomotion b : rate of progress; specifically : parallel rate of growth or development <supplies kept pace with demand> c : an example to be emulated; specifically : first place in a competition <three strokes off the pace — Time> d (1) : rate of performance or delivery : tempo <a steady pace> <on pace to set a record>; especially : speed <serves with great pace> <a pace bowler in cricket> (2) : rhythmic animation : fluency <writes with color, with zest, and with pace — Amy Loveman> this is the definition of pace. youve got yours, and the group or leader may have their own. do not breech your pace, unless your feeling like trying to excel a little better, but do it at YOUR OWN RISK. your wrist controls the throttle, no one else's. in turn your life is in your own hands. if your riding with a group or person that is too fast and you feel uncomfortable then SLOW DOWN OR STOP, move to the back of the group!! or you WILL get hurt. the group WILL wait for you, if they dont, then you shouldnt be riding with those assholes anyway. i can honestly not stress how important your comfort zone is when doing anything on a motorcycle. a motorcycle is not a toy. it is a machine built to go fast and handle exceptional, in the correct hands with the correct rider. you wanna go fuck around, have at it, do it on your own time. PACE! stay in your comfort zone, not in someone else's. i was lucky to get up and walk away when i wrecked. it was my fault, not leaders. im happy, privileged! to have wrecked. why? because it taught me an important lesson. since that day i have never respected my machine, and the sport, more then ever. i rode the shit out of that bike, and guess what? it bit back. long story made short: we will not make fun of you for being less skilled. ill have more respect to the rider that tells me they cant handle the pace, then the rider that tries and fails. go no further then your comfort zone, its different for every single one of us. just please dont get hurt. and again, anything that happens to you, is not the leaders fault, only yours for not following a few simple rules on a moto. i love this family we have here, we need to stay safe.

  4. Britrider does a monthly ride and here are pics from a stop at Brim's Imports in Kenton. They opened the place up to us and it is an amazing place, it is so packed with stuff you cant get good pics let alone check anything out without being distracted by something else. Name it and they probably have it. Here ya go.

  6. You seem to be the exception, not the rule. You also seem to be way more mature than your typical twentysomething girl whose daddy constantly reinforced the idea that she was a fucking princess. By 30, most pretty girls have figured out that they are not a princess and have to work for what they want just like the fat girls.

  7. There is definitely something to that effect. Many people believed I was out of line, and perhaps they were right. I'm not going to say anything now that changes anyone's mind about it, so we'll just say that had I to do it over again, I'd probably have rather just avoided comment and let that whole thread go.

  8. +1 It's not that WD-40 is bad for the o-ring, but rather it is a penetrant and it breaks down the grease on the chain. Kerosene is oil based and shouldn't do that. Or something sciencey like that.

  9. I can have passengers, but they also have to wear a helmet, if it was explained correctly. And yes, I usually wear a helmet anyway. I've had a few times without, but others drivers make me nervous, so... Yeah.

  10. Alright fellas & ladies, I have a favor to ask. My uncle passed away from a motorcycle accident in 2011, he was an amazing man. He worked for the Marion City Fire Department for 23 years, and just made lieutenant a few short months before his accident. Anyway, not going to get into the sappy stuff... but there is an annual blood drive in his memory. If anyone would like to donate in a fallen motorcycle enthusiasts honor it would be GREATLY appreciated! It will be next Sunday (May 19) and will be from 10am - 2pm. There are many slots still available for donors! If you would like to register to donate, please let me know via PM or call the number on the flier. Don't forget to let them know that it is for David Grounds! Even if I only get 1 person from OR to donate, that's better than 0! Thanks in advance for taking the time to listen to me ramble! ^^Picture of him & his youngest.

  15. I appreciate that, but it's not the number of resources that I would have if in a bind that concerned me, it's the fact that I insulted my friends to that extent... my friends are important to me, and I don't want to be the cause of their grief.

  16. I think if you were in a bind, I'd still help you out. That doesn't stop me from being 90% asshole to you on some of these topics where we strongly differ in opinion.

  18. It's really unfair that any of you would judge Magley by his opinions, actions, or behavior. He should be able to spout off like an immature, half-witted jackass without any consequences what-so-ever I keep hearing that he is a better guy in person than on the forum. Fantastic. That means he's probably too timid to speak his mind in person, but feels brave on the internet. That makes me like him even less. Make no mistake, Magley EARNED all the hate, dislike, and lower opinions of him that many on here have expressed. I've never met him in person, and now have no interest in doing so. Moving on from this subject...

  22. And like they say..... 2 types of riders. Those that HAVE crashed and those that WILL crash. Glad you got yours out of the way without too much fuss and damage. I just hope that all the times I have crashed dirtbikes since I started riding in 1975 exempt me from crashing on the street... LOL

  24. The crop of "new guys" mostly in Central Ohio that seemingly keep riding over their head thinking of only speed as opposed to smooth riding and thus having mishaps. I don't mind being the dick to point this out if it helps people get some understanding and stop wrecking and putting themselves at greater risk. Nobody here wants bad shit to happen to other board members on rides

  28. If you are a part timer or a newb and didnt log on over the past winter, shut up and sit down. That fucker took it upon himself to attempt to piss off every one of the regulars that he could over winter. And by being a complete dick, he was pretty successful. If you weren't here for the douchebaggery, then you don't know what you are talking about. If you want to think I'm an asshole, go ahead. If you are going to continue talking out your ass, I will continue to be an asshole. With all due respect and shit.

  29. Ya, I have to hear him in person though. I wasn't sure if it was an "Uuuggghh" or more of a "Aaaahhhh" sound. There's a big difference in Jbot speak. The first sound would indicate pretty much what you said. The latter would mean "got stuck after step 5, gave up trying to fit bags and drank diet coke instead."

  34. Difference of opinion isn't the issue. There are plenty of people on this site and in the real world that I disagree with politically that I get along with just fine. They aren't douchebags about it. The Chris Kyle thing was like sticking your dick in a beehive then being surprised with the outcome.

  36. Magz is a good guy if you get to know him instead of judging him from some threads. There sure are a lot of forum members that have had no problem showing up at his birthday bashes to drink and eat for free. Disagreeing with his posts are one thing but when you have to flex your internet muscles and bash him for no reason it's getting a little childish and fucking pathetic. While you are on here bashing him he is out racking up miles on his bike maybe some of you should do the same. Magz I'll hang out with you anytime the hell with the haters.

  37. Riding within your limits is easy advice to take when your reading a forum. It's harder to follow that same advice when in the middle of the adrenaline/excitement of a brisk group ride. If you feel like you might be taking chances...YOU ARE. Slow down. All it takes is 1 blown curve to ruin your day. Smoothness leads to speed, not the other way around. The fast guys don't look smooth by accident. They know what they are doing. Don't attempt to match their pace if you don't know the proper technique. Ask them for tips before the ride, at gas stops, etc and practice. 7 or 8 years ago CORE went through something similar. There were suddenly a lot of new people showing up to groups rides. Rides went from 3-5 people of similar skill levels that were used to riding together...to 6-8 (or more) people with different levels of experience that didn't know each others riding habits. Despite pre-ride talks...there were a bunch of crashes mostly by new people that got caught up in the moment and got in over their heads. A few learned from their mistakes, most never came back. It was frustrating. Ride Leaders: It's very hard for a ride leader to tell if someone is riding beyond their limits. You can only see so much form those tiny, buzzy, mirrors. I think the leader is responsible for setting a predictable pace, pointing out debris, and counting bikes at stops and that's it. The leader can't control the right wrist or ego of those riding behind. An experienced sweep is VERY important when the group is not familiar with each other. The sweep needs to speak up when it looks like a crash is coming. I've asked more than a few riders to calm down during a group ride...some listen, some don't. I've also left plenty of rides because the group dynamics weren't right.

  39. One thing for sure I have never seen such a bunch of policy, religion, gun rights and government talk. I was told when I was small not to talk about such things beacuse it will cause fights and problems. So unless you want to see all sides of a topic what ever it might be dont start the topic in the first place. Mabe you guys should find a debate fourm sense you guys like to do that so much.
