Hey guys, just wanted to say hey from a new member. My name is Derek, and I've been interested in cars since I was little. I can do most of the basic stuff myself, but when it comes to modding I will most likely be taking it somewhere... although the prospect of doing something myself is pretty exciting. I'm a hands on guy and like to build things (engineer and computer guy). I moved here from Chicago 6 years ago (where I didn't have a car, I had a train schedule), and have since bought and sold a Mazdaspeed 3, and currently own a BMW 335xi with a MT. I haven't made any mods to it yet, but I'm wanting to go Stage 1 with a COBB AP, then maybe Stage 2 with a FMIC and down pipes. Not sure I'll do much more than that while it's my DD, but if I can get a beater for the Winter who knows? Anyway, here's some pics from not long after I got it (I've since removed the tacky Toy Barn sticker). Looking forward to participating in various events. My name is Josh A buddy referred me to this site to get info on the local race scene I would consider myself a hot rodder & am building a street-able 1930 Ford that I will do some weekend racing with one of these days. have been down the track in a few cars, on a few bikes, but I'm no one that is good enough to be known... just like to have fun. I have (2) 13rd magazines from an XD-9 sub compact. They have the Pearce Grip extensions. I'm looking for a Bersa Thunder 380 mag, M&P 22 mag, or XD-S 7rd mag. Would rather trade, but will sell for $35 each shipped or picked up.

In all fairness Big Ern, ya just have to get to know the inmates here...they can be tough on new fish. Think of it as an initiation. In winter especially people need an outlet...some more than others. It doesn't help that the village idiot is MIA so there's a vacancy some are trying to fill. Take a deep breath, lurk around a bit to get the feel of the site. There really are a good group of guys *EDIT* and girls (sorry girls) on here.

If you don't want to be here, nobody is forcing you. On your original note, the whole helping each other out, going for rides, etc "club" thing, that's kind of what we do already. This is a group of (generally) really good people who help each other, ride together, have social events, etc. I'm sure if you calm down and stick around you'll see that... or you can keep talking trash and I'm sure everyone will just make fun of you. You don't see poor people providing jobs for the rest of us. It's the rich who employ us. They provide the jobs that feed, house, and clothe our families. The benefits they provide to this country through jobs, services, manufacturing, and agriculture allows most of us to live better than if we tried self employment. Income tax is collected because of those jobs, and lots of it. It's those tax dollars that feed the have-nots, the do-nothings, and those unable to provide for themselves. When the rich spend money on cars, planes, a 3rd home, or a dinner out, the economy is stimulated and gives us work, which means we have income. And the government collects taxes on all of it, more taxes than 100 of us pay in a year. We need the rich to keep this country running and to keep us all employed. And we need them to stay in this country. However, many of them are leaving to other countries that welcome them with open arms. When they feel abused and vilified by the government, their love for this country will evaporate and they will take all their wealth with them, along with our opportunity for a better life. I won't even get into how much they contribute to charities which benefit many of us when we have a need. And without them, many of these charities would not exist. They have the know-how and the ability to succeed and we could all learn a lot from them. If you divided all our wealth up evenly, because they know how, in ten years it would be redistributed to it's present day levels. The poor would be poor again and the rich would be back on top. Be glad we have wealth in this country and don't make the ones who have it the bad guys. .
