Messed up Speedo

So on my way home from work last night a cop decided to get me for speeding. He said i was goiing 74 in a 55 but he could have told me any number since my speedometer is messed up.

does anyone know how to recalibrate a speedometer?

I think the speedo on my wife's scooter is way off too, its analog, how would I go about getting it checked/fixed?

there should be a slotted adjustment screw on the back..use with a gps or handheld tach

I don't even use my speedo anymore. I just plug in the GPS and go, if a cop pulls me and I wasn't speeding I have a time/date stamped record of my speed and location. If I am speeding the police have a time/date stamped record of my speed and location.:rolleyes:
