Alpinestars Gp Pro Gloves

Since their introduction, the Alpinestars GP Pro gloves have been one of the best selling pairs in the Alpinestars glove line-up. Their great balance of protection, comfort, and price made them extremely popular for both the track and the street. Now, for their Fall 2012 release, Alpinestars has brought out the new, re-engineered version of the the GP Pro’s, and they don’t disappoint.

Apart from the new styling, the new GP Pro gloves look quite similar to the outgoing version. This is because defining features like the TPU knuckle protectors and cuff have already proven to be extremely effective at the top levels of racing and did not need to be changed. Don’t let the similar appearance fool you, because Alpinestars did make some key improvements. The most important addition is probably the L-shaped slider that sits on outside of each palm. This TPU piece helps keep the hand from catching in the event of a palms out landing. It is extremely abrasion resistant and slick so that impact energy is deflected into a slide, rather than being transmitted up the hand and into the wrist.

Alpinestars kept their patented finger-bridge connecting the pinky to the ring finger, but the pinky itself received a big upgrade. Replacing the old double-layered leather is a significantly stronger system that Alpinestars calls K-Tech. This surrounds the pinky in two layers of Kevlar, two layers of leather, and energy absorbing foam for very high levels of impact protection and abrasion resistance. A Kevlar lining also covers the top of the hand, all fingers and outside of the thumb.

One of the reasons that so many loved the GP Pro’s in the first place was lightweight, flexible feel. The excellent feel is still there, thanks to the kangaroo palm, and flexibility has been improved. Alpinestars accomplished this by adding a large leather stretch panel to the thumb and revising the other, existing stretch panels on the fingers. The leather portion on the top of the hand, just below the hard TPU cuff has also been re-designed. It now allows for more motion and features perforation for air-flow.

The old GP Pro model was already the glove of choice for many here at Riders Discount, and it looks like that will continue to be the case with the new version. If you’re interested in getting a pair for yourself, you can do so by getting in touch with MIKE. He can be reached through the forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 804. womens size XS or small?

There is no Stella line for the GP Pro gloves at this time, but these do run smaller than the standard Alpinestars lineup.

I ordered a pair of these through Rider's Discount last week. Got a great price and received the gloves within 2 days.

They gloves are a great fit, and I am really impressed with the quality of the construction and the customer service from RD was top notch. Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a nice pair of gloves.

The Alpinestars GP Pro gloves are one of our best sellers for a reason. Get a pair of your own in any of the three GP tracks graphics or, if that’s not your thing, the standard Black and Red/White are both available as well. Contact Nathan through this forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 809 for more information or to order.

Can you pm the price for black+red please? Also is there a guide to measuring the hand for sizing? I have a hell of a time fitting gloves.

Martin, I typically wear an XL in other brands. Ordered XL in these last fall and they were very snug in comparison, but they are wearing in nicely and fit perfectly now.....just FYI

Cool thanks. I'll try to find a pair when I pick my bike up from the dealer. I'm normally between L + XL most of the time so im think my size may be XL for these.
