Camp food: steak on the fire

One of my favorite dinners while camping is steak and potatoes. I take aluminum foil, fold it in half, fold over the sides adjacent to the fold, and make a pouch. I'll usually make this several layers thick. Then I take the steak (whatever kind of steak you want), cut it up into 1" or so cubes, put them in the pouch. Then cut up some potatos and any other veggies you like, and put them in the pouch. Then I take a beer (usually Guiness) and some brown sugar, mix them together, and pour it into the pouch. Fold the remaining open end, and set it on the coals for 7 minutes ish. Voila. Steak and veggies.

Next time I do this, I'll take pictures incase the foil thing doesn't make any sense.

another really good meal is what my mom calls a foil dinner. You take ground beef, sausage or whatever ground meat you want, potatoes, onion, peppers pretty much whatever else you want. wrap it all in foil with a little tomato. place it right outside your hot coals in the fire ring for about 30 minutes. we had them when we went camping in Gettysburg this past summer.

Who are you? Chef imposter? Copying and pasting? I've never heard you say anything smart concerning food before?

We all need one more camping or four wheeling or outing before it gets way too cold. Problem is the only weekend between now and christmas that does't involve deer gun season is the 11th and 12th. But i'd be game for some event then.
