Heagachongoose Posted July 21, 2015 Report Share Posted July 21, 2015 I had a thought come to mind, I looked into it but didn't find anything online, has anyone used fiberglass mesh to make parts instead of fiberglass fabric? Im just wondering how it would hold up in comparison. Apart from fiberglass, carbon fiber, and kevlar, what other materials have people used with good results? motocat12 Posted July 21, 2015 Report Share Posted July 21, 2015 Best strength is 50/50 cloth to resin. I think mesh would require more resin to fill the gaps and be weaker. Carbon is a sexy finish but if you don;t have a mold for a smooth finish and will need bondo might as well glass it. Also look at Resin types- epoxy, polyester (melts foam core), vinylester.
